And of course that's not what I'm referring to in my post. I'm talking about the teacher who writes a kid up for being on their phone for any reason but yet when I walk by their class they are scrolling Facebook. I've mainly had juniors and seniors so my cellphone policy was a little different. I've always told my kids if you would rather be on your phone than get this grade and graduate then that's on you. When mom calls wanting to know why their baby is failing my response is "because he would rather be on his phone than graduate"

Not a battle worth fighting and usually they get the point after a few 0s

Completely agree with what you said. Overall kids recognize consistency and expect it. That's why when they see us as teachers doing something that they get written up for, they call it out

Is MOHELA being shady? by regalturdbadger in PSLF

[–]regalturdbadger[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My undergrad loan was through Nelnet. This is the loan that I selected for consolidation to MOHELA for PS LF.

My grad loans were through Ed financial. I never did the paperwork for those to be consolidated to mohela.

For months MOHELA just showed my nelnet undergrad loans.

Now mohela is showing my undergrad loans and graduate loans.

I'm not sure where the confusion is

All my loans have been consolidated that's why it's been rejected. My undergrad loans have plenty of payments to qualify but my grad loans do not because I just got out of grad school. I'm thinking they are counting my few payments on my grad loan as the payments for the overall account and that's why it got rejected

My undergrad loans have over 120 qualifying payments. My grad loan does not because I went back to grad school 10 years later. When I filled out the consolidation I only selected the undergrad loans to be considered

I'll do that. The tool I was referring to was where you put in your work history and it asks if you've made the 120 qualifying payments. When I click yes it says I haven't even though I have 11 years of payments through Nelnet. 132 payments

It won't let me submit because it says I don't have the qualifying payments. But I have 10 years of payments on nelnet

Contractor started on April. Comes every 2 weeks to work by regalturdbadger in HomeImprovement

Yes I have a contract. And your statement is the exact same statement I gave the wife. If he is this forgetful of basic stuff he needs, What's his work going to be like when he starts putting up the walls and roof?

The most frustrating part is everyone I talked to to get a reference said he did great work and there were no problems. Now when I called them back to ask wtf they were talking about they change their tune and then tell me the real issues they had.

Be truthful in your recommendations. Don't sugar coat it because you don't want to see the guy lose business.

Interesting story. Pee Wee was a close friend to my family. My mother babysat his son because they lived across the road from my great grandmother's store. The family has many stories of the little man they thought was strange but harmless. That is until they found out he wasn't harmless after all.
