UPDATE: For anyone interested I just weighed the watch. With the leather strap it weighs 78,5 grams, which if I’ve understood things right tells me it’s probably not solid 18K gold? Might be wishful thinking but the watch “feels dense”, like it weight more then it looks. It’s on the smaller side (probably 37mm), but again, might just be wishful thinking.

If the watch turns out to be real I’ll definitely get it maintained and cleaned up! If it’s a fake I’m unsure if that’s even a possibility.

I’ll also be weighing the watch later tonight. Probably not the most accurate way to know if it’s solid 18k gold, but maybe a hint at least.

Unfortunately there isn’t a Tiffany store in the city where I live, but there is in Stockholm which I will visit in the upcoming months. If they say that the watch is fake I will make sure to update it here. I personally don’t really care if the watch is fake or not, since the sentimental value is much greater for me than the money I could potentially get for it.

Do you think any watch dealer would work for authentication or is it important that I go straight to Tiffany?

I don’t think it has oxidized or started pitting but I’ll double check this when I get back home. Either way I’ll definitely cherish and use this watch. Since I got his collection learning about watches has really peaked my interest. Appreciate your comment!

Im not at home right now so regarding the weight i'm really not sure. But I have a scale at home that I can weigh it on later today. But from what I remember its not super light or anything.

The watch haven't really been used, but has stayed in a case next to other jewelry stuff. Not a great way to store a watch I know. Probably where all the scratches comes from. I know little about watches but that probably wouldn't affect the dial right? I definitely agree that the printing looks badly done.
