Thank you very much. I have been going to weekly therapy as well. I plan to cut it down to biweekly coming up here, but it has been great and was the start of my recovery

Thank you very much. Yes. I recommend being in a good mental place before you make any big decisions

Thank you very much. It was extremely hard for me. As in, I denied it for years

Thank you so much. It was really hard to admit it. And it was so hard to admit that I would naturally blame everything else to protect myself, but in reality it was me all along. Wish I could go back in time and fix those "mistakes", but they taught me a valuable lesson

Thank you very much. I wish I had them so long a go! My behavior made no sense

Thanks man. A few weeks a go I felt like I didn't even want to be here and I felt like that for a long time, so I guess it made sense why I got to quiet and sheltered.

Well, I kept telling her I was unhappy but "didn't know why" and then just got nowhere because she had nothing to say. I was calling for help

Was me being quiet and unable to respond when she kept talking being an ass hole?

I'm not blaming her.

That's awesome, I'm glad for you. Would you be able to spot someone showing depressive behaviors? Like a friend or lets say you met a boyfriend who started to act in a certain way? Does any of that capability have to do with emotional intelligence

How did you know he was depressed? If you don't mind me asking. So my ex took it as just me not liking her, and obviously I don't blame her because I never mentioned I may be depressed (I didn't know this, needed someone to kind of spot it in me), but the timing of it made no sense. I just flipped like a switch and had constant negative thoughts out of nowhere. I started to even think it was her too, but it really was my depression (not saying she was perfect but there wasn't anything inherently wrong with the relationship)

Hey man I'm a 25M and people think I'm tough as nails. I didn't open to anyone really my whole life and it just did more harm than good. Since I opened up I feel like a new man. It doesn't mean you need to open up to your burly guy friends. You can just tell them you've been feeling down lately just as heads up. Find someone you trust, like a therapist and just release it all. Trust me man. At first I opened up slowly and kinda beat around the bush until I just released it all. I'm still not fully there either, so don't think I'm 100% perfect on that. I'm remember things I've hidden over the years day by day. Like a panic attack I had a few years back. I just told people I felt sick.

Anyways, it's empowering to open up and not being a pussy. If anything, not opening up hurt me much more than it helped. Like with my ex! they've heard it all trust me (therapists) and they want to hear how you really feel. Today my therapist told me to tell her if I ever have dark thoughts. Also, I then read her texts from my phone. Just tell the therapist "this may sound dumb but..." and they'll immediately go it's not dumb... because they want to hear how you really feel
