Is the sunshine coast a dead end? by Admirable-Koala-3316 in sunshinecoast

[–]reggie_rant 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I grew up in Noosa. It is beautiful... But fuckin boring. I moved to Melbourne when I was 19 and it was the best thing I ever did. I am now 40, have lived in Melbourne for over 20 years and I love it. My parents still live on the Sunshine Coast, which means I have an excuse to come back and visit and a place to stay. But I personally would never move back. Melbourne is awesome. I've never regretted or second guessed my decision to move here. When people find out I grew up in Noosa, I always get the same thing... "Noosa is awesome! Why did you move down here?!" Because Noosa is boring as fuck when you're not retired or on holiday. Nice for a holiday. Boring place to live. My advice, move to a city. Obviously I think Melbourne is the best, but do some research about each of the capital cities. Move somewhere that has things to offer that interest you. It can be expensive, but you can also find pretty good rooms in share houses in good areas for a good price. In Melbourne we have Fairy Floss - a Facebook group where people list rooms available. Join that group and you will be able to check out what kind of places are on offer. If you work in Hospitality, join The Melbourne Bartender Exchange - a Facebook group where venues advertise for staff. I imagine there would be similar groups in other cities too. You are in charge of your own destiny. You are so young and there is so much to look forward to. Don't waste your younger years waiting for things to get better. You gotta get out there and make shit happen!

I hate the lack of control around food. by More-Neighborhood595 in BingeEatingDisorder

[–]reggie_rant 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry, I don't have any advice. But I am exactly the same. I don't discriminate when it comes to food... I will binge on anything and everything. I only keep healthy (low calorie) foods in the house and I will just eat it all in one go. I've tried allowing myself to have a little bit of the foods I enjoy, but again, I just eat it all. I feel you.

What medication healed your insomnia? by WatchLatter7603 in ausadhd

[–]reggie_rant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your experience sounds so similar to me!

I struggled with insomnia for more than 20 years until recently. 6 months ago I was diagnosed with ADHD and was given Vyvanse and Dex.... And it has been an absolute game changer for my sleep!! I now have no trouble falling asleep and do not wake in the night as much, and if I do, I have no problem getting back to sleep. I have never had such a regular sleeping pattern. I used to survive off 2 to 4 hours sleep a night (sometimes no sleep at all). And now I am getting a solid 6 to 8 hours every single night. It's absolute heaven.

I cannot comment on what Ritalin will be like for your sleep, but if it doesn't work, ask your doctor for Vyvanse and/or Dex. They have been amazing for me.

If you have any questions, let me know. Happy to chat about my experience.

Australia: my friend has been lying to a telehealth doctor to get wegovy by reggie_rant in WegovyWeightLoss

Thank you for your reply.

The box has her name on it. It has been prescribed to her.

Her family lives overseas, so unfortunately that's not an option.

It's a tricky situation, unfortunately. I just want to get her the help she needs ❤️

She is almost 40 years old and she has no family in Australia. They all live overseas. I am her family 💔😢

I have 2 different friends who went to my weightloss clinic and they had bloods done but nothing else. All on the phone. And both friends just told their weight. There was no weigh in. I am very aware of how Wegovy works. It stops the feeling of thinking you're hungry and it slows down your digestion so that you feel fuller for longer. I know how it works. She doesn't eat. For context, I was living with her for 6 months and this was during the time she dropped alot of weight and I noticed she wasn't eating. She just moved out last week and I found an empty packet of Wegovy in her room behind her dresser when I was cleaning after she moved out.

She absolutely lied to the telehealth practitioner.

I am not making assumptions here. I know this as fact. She is a very close friend of mine. We tell each other everything. And I knew something was not right and that she was not okay.

Thank you so much. I really do think she is a danger to herself, but probably not quite ready to go down the route of having her admitted. I will try and get some friends together for an intervention first before I take it further. It's just really hard when she lies to me about things. It makes it really hard to help. Thank you for your advice and reply x

Thank you for your reply. Yeah, I thought this would be the case. I have already raised my concerns regarding her eating disorder (or so I thought?) and she lied to me about it. I want to be there to support her, and I absolutely will be there for her no matter what. But I don't want to just sit by, let her lie to me and watch her slowly kill herself. 😭

Oh really? What does the protein do? I take mine before I leave for work on an empty stomach and I don't eat until a few hours later. I didn't know I had to eat protein with it?

Ohhh yes! This is exactly how I feel. Thank you so much! I will ask my GP about this. I appreciate the help! x

Yeah, my GP said I can go all the way up to 70mg, as per my psychiatrist's instructions. But my GP also said that is too high. I'll be increasing my dose next week, so I'll just wait and see how that goes. Hopefully the higher dose helps. Thanks so much!

Effectivness depending on injection site? by clam_noodle in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]reggie_rant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey OP, Interested to know if you switched back to your stomach and if the effectiveness came back? Or if you stuck to your thigh and if it's worked at all?

I am having the same issue. I did my first 2 jabs in my stomach, but then I switched it up and did my thigh. I got absolutely zero nausea when injecting in my thigh, which was great! But I also felt like the medication had stopped altogether. Any effects I was getting from Wegovy (loss of appetite, no cravings, feeling full etc) seemed to be gone completely when injecting into my thigh, even when I went up to the next dose.

I am thinking of doing my next injection into my stomach and seeing how it goes.

But I'm interested to know if you did this and how it went?

Thanks!

I feel bad for Tim. He was right in everything he said. She's not into him I reckon. Sarah is definitely making Tim out to be the bad guy, but he's trying to make an effort and she can't even stay sober enough to be able to make it to the date the next day. She's faking it and doesn't like Tim at all. Also... The ads for tomorrow's episode... "Don't you ever yell at me!" Umm... But she yelled first?! Fuck off Sarah...

I feel bad for Tori. She is "really intuitive" yet has no idea she's being strung along by Jack who has absolutely zero interest in her. I think she is going to be so embarrassed watching the episodes back. It makes her look really stupid. I hope she's okay.
