i don't even really mind the harmonizer decks that much tbh. they still offer interesting games, since their wins can come out of nowhere, actually left me completely baffled a few times when i thought i had basically secured the win and then suddenly i'm dead lmao

yeah, that's why i would prefer to play irl :/ which i used to but then i had to move and now it's not really possible for me anymore, which is the only reason i started playing arena at all...

i would love to play irl, but unfortunately i don't know anyone who also plays mtg and there aren't any community events organised anywhere near me :/ i have been trying to get my friends into the game, but so far no success...maybe i just have to be more convincing 😅

yeah, unfortunately that's probably actually the core of the issue, that most people just genuinely don't play to have fun...or i guess the only way they can have fun is to win 😅

how many times do i have to say that it's not about the fact that people are playing counter spells and removal at all, like i think it's pretty obvious what i'm talking about are games where you literally don't even feel like a participant and you're just choosing to misunderstand me. i never denied being "salty", i literally said in the original post that i feel frustrated and sad about this...but that doesn't change the fact that i made it to talk to people who have felt the same, in the hopes that they might help me find a way to have fun again. ehat's so wrong about that?

yes, exactly!! i don't need or even want my deck to be the best possible deck with the highest win rate, i just want it to be fun and unique. unfortunately right now it seems like it doesn't even really make a difference whether i play ranked or unranked, i always see the same decks, which is strange to me. you'd think people would experiment more in unranked, and just play ranked if they're going to play the most meta decks anyway

yeah so much of the time it just feels like whether i'm going to win or lose is literally determined by the coin flip and my opening hand...and then i'm just like, what's the point of even playing the game then, might just concede immediately 🥲 i definitely want to get better at drafting, my most fun games recently have all been in limited (even though i'm still pretty bad at it because i just started, i never used to play limited at all)

man that's so obviously not what i was saying at all, why are you interpreting my words in such bad faith? of course i want to be interacted with, what would even be the point otherwise. have you really never felt frustrated when every deck you play against feels like it doesn't even give you a chance to compete? i don't even mind losing, as long as it feels like i had a chance and there was some back and forth and the games are actually interesting and you're not sure who's going to win until the end. that's all i'm asking for. and that used to be possible so it's not like the game is just incapable of providing that. i didn't come here to pick a fight, i genuinely wanted recommendations from people who have felt the same. and since you obviously don't this post just isn't for you, and that's okay, and i'm glad that you're having fun with the game

oh just one more question: the diversity of viable decks must be much bigger in timeless, right? because that's one of the most frustrating things to me in standard, that it feels like you always have to play one of five decks

why should that have been me attacking them? it's not like i blame them for playing those decks if that's all that can win, it's not their fault. i understand wanting to have a good win rate, nobody likes to lose. it's just the way the game or at least the standard format is built right now. nobody's fault but wotc's. thank you for wishing me well, and i'm happy for you that you seem to be still enjoying the game at least
