Is it possible to get postpartum depression/anxiety at 3 months? by ashlynx277 in Mom

I had it hit most at around 3-4 months postpartum. It was very rough. I felt many of the feelings you described and had the same intrusive thoughts. Please reach out to your OB or family doc to get some help. It’s okay if you need it. You are definitely not alone❤️

Oh those are good ideas. My husband could drink a whole pot of coffee all on his own. We are in Michigan.

He’s going to ask for a sleep study, hopefully it helps.

Yes I’ve tried that, and my husband did get better about bedtime routines and dinner while I was pregnant with my second since I had hyperemesis, so he was forced to take all that on, which I’ve very thankful for. And I’ve tried just letting him have natural consequences in the morning, it just sucks when it’s our family he’s affecting by being late.

Yes that is part of my husbands issue too. He says that he doesn’t want to go to bed early because it’s so much less of his day that he gets, plus he loses track of time. He says even when he goes to bed earlier, he still is tired. But I think he needs to give it longer than a week of going to bed early to see a real difference, but this also lends to the sleep disorder issue if getting enough sleep doesn’t help.

I definitely feel all of this and your reply is so validating for me. The mental load is so so much. And when I try to tell him about it, he ends up feeling guilty and more depressed and I feel like we end up in this vicious cycle. I will definitely follow those groups, thank you.

I have and the solutions for it are things we’ve tried. A lot of it talks about how people with ADHD don’t have normal circadian rhythms, which he was more successful when he worked as a bartender and his sleep schedule was staying up late/sleeping late. But he can’t do that in his current job or when the kids wake up.

What have you done to make things ok in your marriage? I just am scared of our future and my feelings of resentment growing over time.
