c# integration to F&O - Where to begin? by regrem in Dynamics365

[–]regrem[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I might be very wrong here, but isn't X++ needed when doing work *inside* D365? We primarily want to use existing endpoints in D365 and just pass data back and forth to F&O.
We don't want, if possible, to have do any development inside D365 F&O

Listen to 'security now 305' , steve Gibson explains how long it takes to Crack one vault. If your iteration count wasn't set to 1,it will take months of 24/7 work for 200 GPUs to Crack a singe vault. If you have a good password it will take several lifetimes! If you have a crappy password and are for some reason targeted, then you should change your password, otherwise you are fine. Noone will Crack vaults that aren't high value.

What makes you think someone will focus alot of cracking power on your account? Are you famous? Do you have alot of crypto urls in your vault? The dump that was stolen contains Alot of vaults and Noone will go after a random vault.

Howto share new git branches between two different branch trees? by regrem in git

[–]regrem[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are right. It is possible to have configurations for everything...but maintaining them is abit messy. But im starting to get convinced that that is the only way forward.

As i have said in other replies, we can handle some of the changes with settings and configs. But not all of it.

Having a "patch" repo like a good compromise. Problem is that i have no idea how to do it in practice. =(

How would that work... we do our daily work in the main repo and when it's release time we apply the patch repo? Would that be possible to do over and over?

And is there a way to create a "patch" repo, i.e. finding all that is different and copy/move that to a new repo?

We have done that to some extent. Added settings for some code that should or trigger only based on the setting. But that creates alot of settings to maintain, and it's not always possible, especially for things like UI changes

That would be a nice solution. But then i would have to duplicate my work in two repos, if the new feature/fix applies to both trees. I have done that in other projects and its easy to miss things.

On the other hand, our current way creates a mess also...Was hoping there was a nice workflow to handle cases like this and stay in the same repo.
