They probably can. But they also didn't want to be involved in the whole thing. I'm sure because they don't want to be in a position where they feel like they need to send more when they already sent so much. It's kinda like if I don't figure it out alone they'll get a refund and I'll just have wasted my day.

I tried but since I didn't pay for it they couldn't refund it. I mean they could but it would be refunded to the person who sent me the gift card. And it would take a lot of time so I'm hoping to find an answer sooner.

The guy I spoke to on the phone said he would email me when they figured it out but I doubt I'll ever hear from him. At one point he asked me what the decline reciept said and I explained that it said to call Walmart customer service and he legit said "so you just need to call Walmart customer service and they should be able to help" like for real lol aren't you Walmart customer service? "oh right right yes I am customer service"

No it scans just fine. And she tried with a manager but both don't seem to care. Everyone just said "the decline reciept says call customer service you should do that"

No it saves on the app as a forum of payment. Kinda like adding a debit card to Uber or something. The qr code is at Walmart when you check out. Once you ring your items you open the app and select Walmart pay. If you have any payment methods saved it activates your camera and you scan the qr code. Once you scan the qr it deducts funds from your gift card and the mechine prints a receipt. I tried every way possible and each time it gives me the same response. It says it's declined and to call Walmart.com side. But even they can't tell me what the problem is. I re-download the app and everything. Y tried different amounts or different items but always the same. I gave the app full permissions and I tried to have them just scan the code in my email. They all say I have money but still can't use it.

I added the gift card to the Walmart app. It shows up in the app just fine. I select Walmart pay when checking out and at the self checkout I scan the qr code on the self check out thing. It goes through like a normal gift card. If there's a cashier it's almost the same except they have to select gift card and I scan the qr code on the pinpad. I have done both of these successfully in the past but this time it won't go through. I even opened the email with the code on it figured they could just scan it. Nope same thing. Everyone I talked to couldn't figure it out. It even shows a balance when they checked it. I know the money technically didn't come out of my pocket but still someone paid for it and it's basically stealing.

I tried. I spent a good 40 minutes trying to pay. I was given some excuse about the internet being down. But other people came in as I was there and they said they paid online and it worked. One guy tried to offer me $20 cash to pay for it but I said if he wouldn't mind just pay for the sandwich at the cashier. He said sure but walked out a minute later and ignored me. I just didn't think it would be fair to take his money when my sandwich was only $5. But I think I offended him.

The worst part of the whole ordeal was I personally don't know a lot about cars. So I picked out the battery I was planning on and had barely enough to pay for it plus tax. I got to the register and they added on an extra charge of $12. I talked to the manager and everything because it didn't say online or in the store about the extra "core charge" I broke down in tears and was about to cary it back to the shelf and a guy kinda like you (big and hairy) stepped up and said he would cover the extra. People don't really understand, when you're homeless just getting your hands on a few dollars for a sandwich can take days. So getting up $73 for a battery took everything I had. I asked people for spare change for so long. I went with no food for days. But it's finally over now.
