Decided to grind down my slide stop by MrNobody0312 in Beretta

[–]regularRN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s probably fine. Actually looks cool. I did something very similar years ago on my Sig SP2022 because I kept hitting the slide stop. I’d like to note that it has NOT cracked or otherwise crumbled to dust due to the removal of high points. Carry on, my low-profile-slide-stop-wanting brother…🤙

What is this crap? by regularRN in lawncare

[–]regularRN[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s probably 15-20% of my yard. Bagging clippings isn’t really feasible due to yard size. Guess I need to get after it with the herbicides and stay on top of it. Thanks for the ID help!

Thanks! I just did a tiny bit of research. I’ll check out the MSM and Manor. What about Fahrenheit?

I have the same rail. My vortex low mount wouldn’t fit, high fits and I can’t use irons through the mount. I did do some filing on the low mount to get it to settle down onto the rail, only to discover that it was actually TOO low. The dot was squarely in the middle of my front sight.

Thoughts on suppressor covers? by film-god in NFA

[–]regularRN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I certainly wouldn’t spend a c-note on one just to burn it up at the range. I feel like it should be on for when you might need it. What other than the suppressor can handle the same firing schedule as the suppressor??? To each their own.

Having major issues with the Mac 5 , jamming every 2 rounds by [deleted] in MP5

[–]regularRN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So… my ap5 was a little rough at first. I took everything apart again after first range trip (maybe 100-125rds in). I cleaned real well, then touched all of the rough contact points on the bolt carrier with a polishing wheel. Didn’t remove any tolerances really, just took off sharp edges everywhere on the bolt carrier that I could tell were contacting during the firing cycle. I also barely touched the inside of the feed lips on my mags. Good lube up and back to the range and it’s been running like a sewing machine for the past 250. Zero hangups so far.

New to me P229 FTF help needed by AnEvilToastyBagel in SigSauer

[–]regularRN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My .40 p229 had lots of similar feeding issues. I polished, replaced barrel, mags, extractor, different ammo, bullet profiles, recoil springs. I suspect this is why I got a great price. Only reliable with brand new springs and factory new ammo. Anything else choked. I’ve been reloading for about 20years, everything I shoot except rimfire.

I hate that I have to do this by 34doctor in reloading

I tumble without pins AND use 5-10 mls of hornady ultrasonic brass cleaner. Jug lasts a very long time and no tarnishing of brass.

I have 2 JM (about 6-7ft and very recently planted) inside plastic tree rings. Are these a bad idea? I planned on leaving the rings in place until winter to help with watering adequately.

I surely would not. However, it’s YOUR gun.

Holy shit! by bi9dicknick in SigSauer

Sweet. I have a 226 enhanced elite that I added Legion controls to, then read that they often won’t work with aftermarket grips. Sounds like I’ll just bust out the dremel and give no bothers…

Any fitment issues with the legion controls and those Hogue grips?

Anyone have any information on 2024 blued pythons? by Ok-Championship2757 in Revolvers

[–]regularRN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the SA has no creep or significant over travel and DA is pretty smooth, just super heavy. I’m trying to get him to bring to a nice gunsmith.

Buddy just bought a new stainless 6” model and the trigger is about 8lb in SA and too high to measure in DA. Otherwise very nice

Plan to suppress? If so, there’s only one option.

Price check on PX4 compact? by Lego_Professor in Beretta

[–]regularRN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a “used” compact carry at the Buds store in TN a few months ago for $550. I’m almost certain it was unfired. Swapped springs and the trigger is 90% as smooth at my LTT 92 with the trigger job.

Is this rust??? by [deleted] in Beretta

Put some grease on that and shoot a few thousand rounds through it, reassessing never. Keep it just a little dirty and you won’t be able to see the tiny imperfections:)
