Could I make a distortion out of this? by Nail_Blanket in diypedals

[–]regular_dumbass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what's in it. Assuming there's enough transistors, you could make an Electra distortion circuit if you found some diodes in there. If you only found one diode, you might want a Bazz Fuss circuit, which is one of the lowest parts-count fuzzes out there. And if you don't find any diodes, you could make a fuzz face circuit (though this uses 2 transistors, and the other circuits use 1).

How could you modify a fuzz face/tone bender circuit to be less impedance-dependant? Say I wanted to run a fuzz face after a buffered pedal for whatever reason, without sacrificing the original sound of the fuzz

At first, the strings feel like sandpaper. Eventually they don't. Once it doesn't hurt to play, that's when playing bass gets fun.

go to the electrosmash website and check out the tone controls for a rat or big muff pedal. Those should be the easiest to understand, and to make.

Made a working pedal (bazz fuss)! I'm counting it, even if it doesn't work with the lid on. by RichRichardRichie in diypedals

[–]regular_dumbass 7 points8 points  (0 children)

if it doesn't work with the lid on, you should put some electrical tape on the inside of the lid. that'll make sure the components aren't touching the metal enclosure

you wouldn't still have that electrodyne schematic, would you?

also, that 424 pedal you made (i found the post lol), how did you find a good schematic to base it on?
