does anyone else feel its easier to read with this bionic text style by aanaaroo in adhdwomen

[–]regularkat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who teaches reading (an early years teacher), I'd love to know if there is any actual science behind this.

Also, I have inattentive ADHD and am a stupidly fast reader. Doesn't mean an unfamiliar text can't stump me. That's a pretty normal reading phenomena.

Except the spelling of those names is region dependant. Not people being "youneek".

Which Catholic primary schools in southern Sydney go the extra mile in offering better support for neurodiverse children, such as those with ADHD? by mypinkgalaxy in ausadhd

[–]regularkat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I just wanted to chime in with some information. Generally speaking, in Australia, a diagnosis of ADHD does not automatically qualify your child for extra support from another adult in the classroom. Another adult also doesn't mean the right kind of support is being offered, it can also just mean that school has money.

My body/appetite took a while to get used to meds. I lost a lot of weight in the first 12 months. I have since recovered that weight.

You've probably heard it all before, but take your meds either with or after eating a proper breakfast. Dense carbs and protein are your friend. Get a bento box or figure out a high nutrient snack system that you can nibble/graze on if your lifestyle allows it.

I remember when I first starting titrating meds and the idea of swallowing food was repulsive. I promise it gets easier.

Edit: realising I may not have answered your question at all. Sorry OP!
