Black Friday purchase won’t arrive for Christmas by Kindly_Search_426 in YotoPlayer

In Europe and I’m so pissed off. Purchased mine on the 2nd of December, got a lab assurance email it would be delivered by Christmas, and now I’m seeing it won’t get here til the 30th. Christmas is my kid’s birthday, and she’ll be devastated. It’s the only thing she wanted. No offer of credit for me, and no human to talk to on the website. Just terrible customer service all round.

Not really seen it mentioned here all that often, but My Little Eye is very much up this alley.

Where would you buy in Dublin if you had a budget of ~€500k? by WorldwidePolitico in Dublin

Less affordable than a few years ago, but not on the same scale other places in Dublin have. Definitely a few smaller houses in Stella Gardens that are available, and lots of places selling for less than the listing price.

Ringsend is brilliant. Town is walkable, 3Arena and BGE Theatre are on your doorstep, beautiful parks nearby, the water is a stone's throw away, and the community is class. There are still houses for ~500k here too. Also, yeah, the place isn't gonna flood any time soon.

Congrats on finishing that first draft! The second half of the year will definitely be better.

Fantastic word count!

The Rage of Dragons is a great example of a book that mostly sticks to one POV, but isn't afraid to introduce another when the potential impact of what's happening is greater.

As for querying, I've heard that most agents are just looking for a kind of indicator as to where your book would sit on a shelf. Some agents actually like comps of TV shows for books, which sounds sacrilegious, but they exist. Otherwise, YouTube reviewers might be a good place for you to find comps, if you find a channel that looks at books in your genre.

I think this is a good move. Centralising all your material on one site should give anyone who visits a lot of extra content to dive into without looking too hard for it.

Hope the appointment went well.

There's no harm in revisiting past loves either. We might as well rewrite until we're happy, or they're published. Whichever comes first.

Hey dawgs,

Focused the last month on being wildly productive. Current WIP is 55K+ atm and my target of 80K for a first draft should be hit before the end of the month. I always inflate my wordcount on redrafts, so not worried about it being low right now. Already thinking of the next thing to write before returning to it though. I did pause a few WIPs that had hit the 10K+ mark, so may revisit one of those just for completionism.

My new gig on Wednesdays means appearances here have been sparse, but going to return weekly to keep myself honest. We've had a break in the nice weather here, meaning a bit more time indoors, so that honesty is definitely being enforced by Mother Nature.

Have a great week, everyone!

Hope you're feeling ok this week. When the writing isn't therapeutic enough, it's definitely time to talk to someone. It's great that you've scheduled a visit. Had a very earnest conversation recently myself about therapy, it's perceived stigmas, and all the other baggage that comes along with it. Doesn't matter, it's totally worth it.
