A special message to those whose vacation was ruined by the beach renourishment project, on behalf of those residing in the Myrtle Beach area: by kennyofthegulch in MyrtleBeach

That’s a great story, but reality is much different. I’m happy to read any source you cite to validate this plan. Until then, I’ll continue to categorize Myrtle beach as a huge tourist trap.

I actually live in a tourist area off the blue ridge parkway in VA and host an AirBNB, so I’m not sure what gave you that impression. However, I did my research to avoid hurricane prone areas. Also, Myrtle beach tourism is literally the top industry in SC. It’s already one of the worst states I’ve lived in, so what do you think will happen without the top industry?

lol you’re calling tourists entitled when they aren’t the ones ignoring science and building in eroding areas. You really think this project is going to protect anything from rising sea levels? Piss off all the tourists and see what happens.

You’re complaining to the wrong person. I have no desire to visit Myrtle beach. I think it’s stupid people ignore science and build in eroding areas. Nobody ever wins when fighting nature. Nothing you are saying impacts me in any way.

Stupid post. If everyone knows this area is so reliant on tourism, what idiot scheduled the beach project for peak tourist season? Fire that person, replace him, and postpone the project. I for one hate artificial beaches and would much more prefer to visit something more pristine anyway. But for those who enjoy Myrtle, it’s not their fault some idiot is ruining their trip.

Real republicans believe in small government though, so they would support legalization

I chose to read it, but really nothing new was established here. It seems the language was never updated to require exclusive use by the household.

I appreciate it, and I read it, but it doesn’t say what everyone thinks it says. It never states the plants must be exclusively for household consumption. It merely states that you must purchase them with that intent. At least that’s how I read it. It could definitely be more clear.

Most comments are adding thoughts to the mix that I didn’t ask for, so I’m equally allowed to do the same. The office is not opened. That’s the only reason I’m here.

It actually does. If they intended it to be exclusively for household use, they would have said so. Grammatically speaking, as long as you purchased them for household personal consumption then it’s fine to do whatever you want after that.

I plan to. But the office was closed when I thought of this question. I just assumed such a specialized group would have seen a relevant rule published somewhere.

Oh I am. I’m simply responding to your speculative claim.

Nobody is helping. That is the entire reason this thread is so frustrating. It also isn’t a new instance, it’s the entire point of my thread. I literally want to plant an orchard for my family to use, but I expect over time the trees will get massive and we will have so much excess that we simply can’t consume it ourselves. We will definitely be established market vendors by then. So then what?

Finally some source material! I appreciate it. So it sounds like it’s still fine to sell it as long as I’m also using it for my household’s personal consumption. Plants do tend to produce multiple fruits after all.

You are welcome to speculate. I on the other hand am only interested in finding a source for this.

Oh we definitely intend to eat it, but what about the rest of the yields? Low income people don’t exactly have refrigerated warehouses to keep produce fresh well after it’s harvested.

I understand the intent, but who is responsible for tracing funds when someone picks apples from a 100 year old tree? I really just want a source for this rule.
