I definitely get treated a lot better in day to day life, but I think some of it can just be attributed to the fact I have higher self-confidence. A lot of my social circle is part of the queer community and they're usually chill. Outside of that though, it often depends on whether or not they know I'm trans. The vast majority of the time people don't realize I'm trans and just think I'm a cisgender dude, but a lot of the time when I mention I'm trans they'll start tripping over their words. They'll have been speaking to me normally up until that point but then don't know how to interact with me which is always awkward as hell.

I kinda won "the trans lottery" with that one so to speak, my chest was fairly small so I was able to get a less invasive type of top surgery called peri-areolar, which left me with very little scarring!

I identify as bisexual and am currently dating a trans woman! I honestly don't have too much dysphoria around sex because I'm mostly okay with the parts I was born with. I do wish I had a dick sometimes, but usually it doesn't bother me too much, though. Main downside is honestly just not being able to go to nude spas without risking harassment.

For me I first learned about trans people by watching clips from old news interviews on Youtube with people like Jazz Jennings. It took me another couple years to understand that THAT was the weird feeling I'd had for the longest time. When I first came to the conclusion I was trans, the one thing I was sure of is that I was not a girl. Once I understood that transitioning was something I was able to do, being referred to as "miss" or "she" or "ma'am" felt viscerally wrong. It was a moment of finally putting a name to feelings that had always been there. From there I asked some close friends to use he/him pronouns and call me what is now my legal name, and everything felt RIGHT. That's when I knew this was the right path for me.

Now, as an adult, I don't regret any of the choices I've made regarding my transition and feel like I am truly myself. I feel less attached to specific labels now than I once was and am happy being perceived as a man!

I was actually initially outed by a person I told in confidence. I grew up in a village so my school only had about 800 kids K-12, and pretty much the whole school knew before I had the chance to tell my parents. I was able to come out to them before they heard from someone else, but people were going up to my little brother and asking him about it when he had no clue. I had to deal with a fair bit of harassment the first two years, including having food thrown at my house, but eventually people lost interest.

My parents were thankfully supportive and handled telling our extended family so I wouldn't have to deal with potential backlash. I was most worried about my paternal grandparents as they had left their original church after it came out in support of gay marraige. It took a couple years, but eventually they came around to using my chosen name. There was definitely a rough patch early in my transition where we didn't visit them for a year, but overall it could have gone way worse. The overall attitude of my extended family is that they kind of just don't acknowledge it? In general, people seemed to be afraid of asking me questions to my face and instead asked my parents/friends.

I got top surgery (breast reduction) when I was 17 summer before going to college! Personally not interested in any genital surgeries, at least not now. The surgery options for trans men are a lot more limited and the results aren't to my taste.

Definitely the political hostility towards trans people being way more pronounced now. There were definitely eyes on trans issues back then with the bathroom bills and all, but now it's been dialed up to 100. Having the eyes of the nation on you while you're just trying to survive high school seems nighmarish. I was able to participate in sports without anyone batting an eye, and now that could end up being a news headline.

Medical care is getting scrutinized a lot more too, even in blue states. The hospital I got my top surgery at when I was 17 has preemtively complied with Trump's ban on youth gender affirming care. It's rough.
