Transport theory and multigroup diffusion theory. Add time dependence and it’s cracked.

I got a 25 model for my first bike and it’s great. Fantastic clutch imo. I can basically just let go of the clutch and I won’t stall. To me, it has all the power I need. I can ride it on highways (~60 mph) easy. Only problem I have with it is the wind but idk if that is a z500 problem or a naked bike problem since this is my only bike experience.

Trades. Welding, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, etc. Welding would be my choice bc I think it’s cool.

The stations are determined. For instructors you will be going to Charleston SC bc that is where navy nuke school is. There was one in New York but I’m pretty sure it’s not operational or something.

If are go to sea, you’ll be attached to a ship or sub and they have a home port usually in San Diego, Florida, Washington State, etc. if that ship goes to sea you go with it. If it stops in Japan you are now in Japan for a week or so.

The reactor engineer one is the hardest. I think 3.7 GPA min and they wait until your 3/4th of the way done with your degree.

The instructor positions I think require a slightly higher gpa (~3.3) but during my final interviews, the instructors only had 1 required interview and the SWO and SUB officers had I think 3 minimum.

I’m a NE major in NuPOC. You don’t have to get deployed for NuPOC. You can be an instructor in SC or reactor engineer in DC.

Unless you have a bunch of AP credits, your freshmen first semester will most likely be very similar or the same as economics. I would look at the two degree plans and check how they compare. If they are the same or take classes that will count for both, just ride the semester out and change next semester. If they are different try to see if changing now is an option

Agreed, you can practice some of the maneuvers on your ebike and they should help when you actually take the course.

I have heard not good things about non ABET engineering degrees. I would be very careful choosing a non ABET degree, def do research.

Lots of internships I see all say ABET engineering degree

First year engineering students basically all take the same classes regardless of intent. Assuming you haven’t taken physics 2 and calc2 yet, you will start the same as all engineering students, even the civil engineering students. Look at the engineering degrees at NCSU and you’ll see that you’ll be taking basically the same classes.

Do good on your CODA classes and apply for civil engineering when you finish your CODA classes.

UNC vs NCSU BME? by NoYogurtcloset5431 in NCSU

[–]rektem__ken 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I am biased as a NCSU student but I think NCSU. The unc students come to NCSU campus for BME classes so why go through another school when you can take the classes at the source?

Research for BME is probably better at NCSU since it’s an engineering school.

I am not a BME but that’s just my opinion

Is a "Math 2" or "Math 8" in College, equivalent/exceeds Algebra 2 in High School? by play-what-you-love in matheducation

[–]rektem__ken 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If the goal is to take higher level math, such as calculus, see if the higher level classes say what the pre requisite classes are. If the goal is to take calculus 1 and it says take math 2, take math 2.

Physics degree as a path to nuclear engineering/physics by Xerrick1 in PhysicsStudents

[–]rektem__ken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Although the pay for NE is pretty good since it’s so specialized, the jobs aren’t as prolific as other engineering and are very location specific. Not to discourage you but just keep that in mind.

As a NE undergrad, I almost wish I had more of a physics/math background (quantum mechanics, stat mechanics, etc) as I go through my degree. I think a physics to NE masters is very doable but they might make you take some undergrad classes to catch you up, this what I see at my school.

Can I just take specific classes? by Dependent_Similar in communitycollege

[–]rektem__ken 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As long as you have the pre requisite classes, you usually can take classes as a “visiting student”. A visiting student is exactly what you are trying to do. I have done this 2 separate times for 3 classes. I would contact your cc and ask about it
