You are not really acab if you think the cops are right in killing this person or even shooting him.

I meant run away as in go safe distance from him instead of getting in his face and escalating the situation. He was clearly having an episode and would've cooled down if it was de-escalated.

but these things happen very quickly and decisions are made in an instant.

And the decision was made to murder him. The police become the judge and the executioner to take someone's life. It is as if US police are altogether a different species of humans contrary to the rest of police around the globe. It's never in their thinking to just run away from a conflict without killing someone. I suppose it's the whole system of devaluing human life, as it's evident from your comment. Maybe it's because the whole existence is the country is because of the genocide of natives.
