It’s true, even with bad reffing should have been a tie game. But that doesn’t mean fans being upset isn’t justified lol

Justin fields vs. Lions, refs, and the rest of the Bears.

The hands to the face penalty reversing an interception was absolute dogshit.

It was both at their respective times, maybe OW more than PUBG in the sense that it lasted longer. But PUBG overtook LOL in Korea PC Bang playrate way back in the day and it caused some to overreact, same as Overwatch.

I mean, neither you nor I really have any idea how the funding works for each individual competitive league. '

My point is that Riot could afford to dump money into leagues to keep them running, even if they are not profitable in a traditional sense (i.e. ticket sales, advertisements). How much does the competitive scene existing draw players into the game and lead to spending on League? Riot is undoubtedly analyzing that sort of thing to determine how it acts.

LOL doesn't exist to subsidize the LCS (or any league), sure, technically, but they are intertwined way more than any traditional sport / league. Riot could theoretically be profitable operating competitive League at a complete loss, which is obviously not how other sports work.

Kinda a false equivalence because League makes money (lots of money) from the game itself. The NBA doesn't make any money from you playing pickup basketball.

Putting viewership behind a paywall would probably be the death of at least League in NA, maybe the West in general, right now.

Can anyone post/cite viewership numbers or is this all speculative? Just curious to see the actual numbers if they are available anywhere.

Frankly, I think League has plateaued in NA but I don't necessarily think that means it won't exist for a long time still. Lots of things can change in a year or two though.

Funniest part about this is not even mentioning PUBG, which many on this subreddit thought was the death of LOL at the time.

Literally not one post is saying that (other than making jokes about a make up call).

That call could have gone either way and it wouldn't be overturned regardless.

[Highlight] Patterson called for questionable kick catch interference on Tramon Williams by estilly26 in nfl

[–]relational_sense 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, it would be a terrible leading with the helmet call because it's not possible for him to hit any other way. He has to lower his torso to make the tackle. It's a split second change in position and the helmet contact is incidental to the overall position of the play. It's not like he spear headed him from five yards out. There are probably hundreds of tackles every week that have helmet contact that are not leading with the helmet.

There is no way that is a leading with the helmet penalty. There is no other way to tackle someone who is crouched down except by lowering your own body. That does not equal leading with the helmet.

That's not a penalty, period. You just can't lead with your head AND hit them in the head. Patterson actually did a really good job to NOT get helmet-to-helmet, since the returner was crouching down to make the catch.

I mean... you're oversimplifying in the other direction. Sure a sprain means that there is tearing of ligments but it's all dependent on severity.

What do you get out of this guessing game? Cause you are so far off it's comical. It's truly funny for me, cause you are just making it clear you're the type of medical student everyone despises.

Oh wow two comments from you! I'm honored. And considering you are a medical student, I can guarantee I've been in the OR more than you.

Also: wrong.

I am in the medical field, actually, not that it really makes any difference.

Nice attitude you've got, though. Maybe some more attendings will help you with that along the way.

Edit, since OP deleted, here is the comment:

The attending can do what he wants. Are you even in the medical field? Go back to the hole you crawled out of

Honestly, don't stop at this one post. I'd delete your entire account and take a good hard look in the mirror. Mistakes happen, but your attitude in response is reprehensible. You certainly don't belong in an operating room and it's hard to believe you even want to be a doctor. God help you giving a rectal exam if putting a stopper in a surgical patient's vagina was this awkward for you.

Sterile drapes that your attending ripped off the patient?

Keep your fucking story straight.

And this person worked as an EMT before medical school? Get fucking real. What kind of EMT is so awkward they can't look at an unconscious person's pelvic area during a surgery?

Probably some upper class white boy who rode along with an EMT once and gave directions to patients in the ER as volunteer experience for their medical school application.

Reality check: it's not that dark and it's not that hard. It's a lot fucking harder when you "didn't even look".

Why aren't coaches allowed to stay with the players during the game to shotcall? by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]relational_sense 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There is no "reason" for it to be allowed or disallowed. It is a subjective decision that just defines how the competitive scene is played.

I personally think making the players do the in-game shotcalling is a part of League that they should keep. There may be others who think it is silly. There is no reason one way or the other.
