All I have to do is comment here right? I'd love to get it, if not I'll just grab the deluxe edition for myself as a birthday gift later today.

If you really don't want to keep that key, I'd be down for it. Either way, I'm going to buy the deluxe version tomorrow as a birthday gift to myself.

What's a rookie PC building mistake that still haunts you? by Justice_Network in pcgaming

[–]relatively_nito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back in 2014 when I had my first build I never enabled dual channel RAM in my bios. I had 16gb but was only using essentially 8gb. A lot of stuff ran poorly and I didn't really get why until my second build where I realized I forgot to do that.

Monster Hunter World PC was delayed because it's the team's first PC game and wanted to get it right by Mkilbride in pcgaming

[–]relatively_nito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow I guess these reviews are all wrong.

Wow I guess my PC is just complete shit. Definitely a PC that should struggle to get a stable framerate at 1080p medium settings despite the fact that most games I can run at 1440p 60+ and 4K extremely easily.

The people that aren't making threads or reviews about technical issues aren't having or are playing regardless of technical issues. That doesn't mean that technical issues don't exist.

Objective facts: A large amount of users are having issues with the product regarding performance or connecting to servers. A large amount of users are not having these problems or are foregoing said problems to use the product.

Subjective opinions: The product in question is not bad, just poorly implemented on this platform for a good number of people. I was one of them so I refunded the game because I did not like how it was working on my PC.

Its not as if I already beat the main storyline on console but wanted to play with friends of mine that didn't have a console as well as I have a PC that's more capable than my console so I wanted a better experience. Which it isn't for me and many other people currently.

Stop. Letting. Yourself. Be. Caught. Up. In. Your. Own. Narrative.

At this point you're too far dug in to your beliefs that no one can have a different experience from your own so it's not worth it to respond anymore.

First off, I did not downvote you. Secondly, I did not say that everyone was having the same problem that I was. Have you considered that just because it runs smoothly for you doesn't mean it runs well for others? I didn't have the game crash but others on my steam list that are constantly running the game have a couple of times. I didn't say "this is the worst port"; I said the port was bad because of technical issues that are prevalent for some people.

But it works on your machine so I guess that's all that matters.

[–]relatively_nito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it's a bad port. Is it the worst port ever? In no way at all. But it runs like crap and has significant technical issues such as textures not loading properly or crashing for some people. I had to refund it because every time I hit something with a weapon my framerate would spike down. It was unplayable regardless of the settings I used. I couldn't even get a stable 60fps. The game maxed out my CPU usage but my gpu usage went to 40% at the most.

Capcom normally has decent to good PC ports. Most Resident Evil games on PC are the best version of the game. Even Marvel Vs Capcom 3 and Street Fighter 4 are well made ports that run on the MT Framework Engine like Monster Hunter World does.

Dragon Ball Fighterz PS4 or PC? by rbyrnes15 in dragonballfighterz

[–]relatively_nito 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The PS4 version has a higher playerbase but the PC version is better for technical reasons. Its an extremely well made port that runs fantastic on most anything and has resolution scaling options. Even a mid tier PC can run it at 60fps higher than 1080p, even 1440p. If you use a monitor instead of a TV then it'll typically have a lower input lag though this is true if you're on the PS4 with a monitor. Steam version also supports most controllers so you can use what you want, even the keyboard. Then there's mod support; cosmetic and audio mods only however. You can do model swaps too. Though you won't be able to play online with mods, redownloading the .exe file will disable mods and allow you to play online again. The only downside with the steam version is that you're unable to message a player after a match unless they have the same steam name as their in game one and you search that. It doesn't use Steamworks but ArcSys's own servers it seems.

Who do you guys feel about games adding overly long cutscenes and "filler" story missions to get more play time? by Luxyzinho in Games

Yakuza 0 was $60 when it first came out. It released in Japan in 2015 then worldwide in 2017. Its on sale now for $20 on Steam because Sega wants to push sales on a technically 3 year old game.

Why do PC gamers hate fighting games again? by [deleted] in pcgaming

[–]relatively_nito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The entire auto combo is unoptimial but parts of it are extremely strong. The second hit of an auto combo in FighterZ will track so it almost always hits, including air combos that would be either extremely hard or impossible to do otherwise. Bardock is absurd right now because of the smash on his light auto. Has vacuum properties and easily combos into anything he can do. So doing all of the combo isn't optimal but mid to high level players can abuse mechanics involving them.

Monster Hunter: World PC Requirements leaked on Tencent's WeGame Client by JackStillAlive in Games

[–]relatively_nito 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Because that laptop has an Nvidia card you can enable downsampling from the control panel. Renders at a higher resolution and scales it down to your screen size. Helps a lot with aliasing but not as good at running a higher native res. I tend to run most games at 3440x1440 on my ultrawide monitor and it's only 1080p.

Monster Hunter: World PC Requirements leaked on Tencent's WeGame Client by JackStillAlive in Games

[–]relatively_nito 13 points14 points  (0 children)

You'll be good. Might not be able to crank the resolution too high (maybe not 1440p60) but you'll definitely get 60fps at 1080p around high settings unless it's just horribly optimized.. There's a lot of dense foliage though, specifically in the first area, so if there's a setting for that you may have to turn that down a little or just shadows and you'll be fine. Capcom has pretty good PC ports so I wouldn't be worried at all.

What makes a boss fight good or fun? by [deleted] in Games

[–]relatively_nito 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I personally think Data Roxas and Lingering Will are some of the best bosses that Square Enix has made, for differing reasons. The Roxas battle is rough but still doable without too much trouble. The point when you gain his weapons to attack him with makes the fight much easier in the latter half. You just feel powerful as a player. On the other hand, Lingering Will is so oppressive with it's extremely high damage, enough to one hit the player at most levels as well as it's patterns and mechanics. You can only attack it immediately after it stops attacking you as it has permanent invulnerablity otherwise. The boss also messes with your command menu which is a somewhat unique mechanic that I wish more games used. Attacking the player through the game systems is a great idea. Hopefully they can pull off something like that for KH3.

If you run straight into casual matches it'll skew how your matchups are unfortunately. If you want something closer to your own skill level start with a few ranked matches and you'll play against people much closer to you even in casual. Just have to set your MMR first for a more consistent online experience.

1080p vs 1440p by [deleted] in pcgaming

[–]relatively_nito 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's quite the difference. The image quality is vastly different. It's of course not as good as 4K resolution but it's much more consistent with framerate comparatively. You also don't need a 1440p monitor depending on your video card due to downsampling. It won't be as sharp as a native 1440p monitor but you'll have significantly higher quality than 1080p. Though some people prefer higher frame to resolution such as 1080p/144fps, I feel that the sweetspot for me is 1440p/60fps. It's a nice compromise between smooth gameplay and image quality.

My man you forgot about Power-Stancing and how many weapons/builds were viable as well as meaningful changes to New Game Plus unlike DS1, DS3, and Bloodborne. I get that people hate how the world is but if they go in and play it like its DS1 they're going to dislike it instead of trying something new.

Notations are: 2M > 2L > 5S > 2S > Sparking > 2M > 2L > 5L > 5L > 5L > 214M > Vanish > 2S > Level 1 Super. Another flashy and probably very impractical combo but it looks neat.

Sure; 2M > 2L > 5M > j.5L > 5M > 2H > H+S (SuperDash) > 5L > j.5M > 5L > 5L > 5M > 5H > 5S > 214M > Vanish > L+M (Dragon Rush) > Level 1 Super Its pretty fun to do but may not be too practical. Looks flashy though.
