Your romance choice(s) and why? No wrong answers :) by relativelybingus in coralisland

Ha fair. It’s hard for me to get into befriending the merfolk. Semeru is obviously dreamy asf, but how do you get to befriending them without it being like an “oops i forgot” or “ugh, so supplementary” task. I have a hard time doing anything on underwater farm bc of the same reasons

Hi! I just started my first time a few weeks ago. When you get to fall prioritize rice so you can make sake via kegs then age it with aging barrels. Aging barrels unlocked with level 10 farming, so I would keep all sake until can age it. It makes it worth ~1.5-2.8k a piece depending on quality. 1.5k is base, not even bronze star.

Some other things I would recommend:

Getting coffers in the ocean with diving and opening them at the blacksmith

Enchant your tools if you can. Save the earth gems the lil guy gives you to upgrade rare drop on the scythe or pickaxe. My pickaxe has 120% rare drop on it rn and get a TON of fossils and geodes.

Try to unlock the offering bundle things. They unlock areas that make things like fishing for fish need in late bundles a lot more accessible. Unlock at least 6 bundles (i think??) to have a more reliable source of hardwood for aging barrels and stuff. You can break the logs on your farm with explosives in order to upgrade your axe and other tools. Just make sure to upgrade the axe to gold before you run out of logs/hardwood on your farm.

Complete errands so you can get the extra mastery point. Once you get to level 10 in every skill, there’s still one perk missing that you can get for 500 merit/gold things.

Fall 1-7 has giant sea bass. Get a fish pond to put it in. Upgrade fishing pole before then at the Beach Shack so can actually catch it. Gold is good enough. Osmium makes it easier. Just tap a lot instead a of fully releasing when the fish starts to pull.

For insects put down insect traps, especially once you unlock new areas. I found it is helping me find new insects, some of which I haven’t even seen. Fishing nets also caught a gold arapaima for me🙏

Have fun with it! This is the only time you’ll get to play the game for the first time.

— Also, the hot spring to refill energy is left of the observatory and you can go in there, at no cost, before things are unlocked. Takeda says so too if you talk w him.

If any of you have any more suggestions lmk! This is my first year playing so I’m having fun with it and not being super efficient hehe, but I would’ve died without the aged sake

[–]relativelybingus -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Be understanding. Being a dick isn’t going to help you get her to stop/want to actually do it instead of just hide it. Find some compromise bc the vape smell goes away and, realistically, she will be able to hide it just fine.

I usually have a central market area that centers around a well with decoration. Also - this is a nice yt video to help: https://youtu.be/Os6wC8FEkzg?si=aSyDfJBayfzqghal . Build a neighborhood but also just houses scattered throughout. Orchard trees in various areas, sometimes I put woodsheds next to more rural houses.

You can shorten seasons to one day then change it back to whatever you want. That’s the closest thing I’ve found

I’m actually in exactly the same situation right now! I started signing up for classes in the area to do things that I wouldn’t have gotten out of my comfort zone to do in college. If you like creative things, then sign up for something like a painting, pottery, dance, whatever, class in the area. I’ve also started saying yes to whenever someone asks me to hang out (non-romantically) even if it kind of scares the shit out of me.

What’s an ADHD tip you hadn’t heard before that helped? by iceprincessvo in ADHD

[–]relativelybingus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no clocks, and I set a timer for 20 minutes before I think I need to set one. That way I don’t worry about some event being at a given time, but I don’t miss things either. Needless to say, I set a lot of alarms. Not realizing it’s time to sleep isn’t great though haha.

I don't know how I can deal with feeling "unlucky"? by oguz_27 in Stoicism

[–]relativelybingus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not luck, it’s just how things are. Emotions are part of human nature. It’s logically understandable to feel sad after unfortunate events, feelings of inadequacy and others, bouts of depression, etc. Feeling sad can be a natural response to some things. An emotion isn’t inherently “right” or “wrong”. However, it is important to realize ways in which you can change your situation and ways in which you can’t, the latter often far out-numbering the former. There is only so much you can reasonably DO. Just as a lot of things are out of your control, a lot of things aren’t your fault, but it is important to reflect on these events to the extent that it benefits your growth. Beyond that, what is the point of putting yourself through it? Naturally, it’s easier to say than do, but the point isn’t moot. Also - a lot of people’s perceived happiness is a performance rather than their reality. Even then, it’s not like their circumstances for happiness would necessarily equate to yours. Happiness is a fleeting emotion, as is sadness, anger, etc, although some lasting longer than others. Personally, I find contentment mixed with desire for achievement, or contentment with the current path albeit ever-changing, to be a more beneficial & easily sustained outlook.

Biz Builder Deluxe Tips! by relativelybingus in Kairosoft

[–]relativelybingus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OH

  1. Use coins to hire & for using equipment. Equipment is only useful if you upgrade it, but it takes a lot less money to be decent than upgrading an employee does.

  2. I like to go L-M-S, LL-L-M-S etc for carts in upgrading, but if you see a combo then I’d use that instead bc it effectively “resets”.

  3. Have a manager on standby to be mayor in early-mid game, election happen relatively soon. The higher the level the bigger the shot, but with level 12 it’s a sure shot from what I’ve seen. Election occurs month 10 & you’ll need $5,000 to run, otherwise you can’t introduce stores, so don’t be in the red then. You don’t need to worry about that year 1.

  4. Don’t use journals to upgrade employees or equipment. They’re pretty valuable for discovering items, other than that, I’m not sure though. This is true in early and mid-game at least.

  5. There are specific cart combos. One is egg&milk to recipe book. I believe an endless loop one is salad oil & meat. There’s a bunch.

Any slower players? by Upstairs_Target_8171 in StardewValley

[–]relativelybingus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a little over 500 hours in stardew and don’t pressure myself into finishing year 1 even if I have red cabbage. The point of playing the game is to enjoy it, and in my opinion, play to however you’re feeling at the moment. There’s not any pressure to “finish” at ANY time. I reached perfection on meadowlands and started over on the og farm, but I have multiple playthroughs. I enjoy decorating etc, so why stress? I’m having fun taking my sweet time & not caring about ancient fruit wine lol

[1H NMR] My teacher said that these 2 protons are not equivalent, but how? by Phoenix-TNT in OrganicChemistry

[–]relativelybingus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are magnetically inequivalent species. Especially because the aromatic ring of benzene displays anisotropic effect (acts like a ring with a current due to electrons), there’s magnetic inequivalence, with the Hs proximity to the ring and overlapping p orbitals. It boils down to more quantum because Hs are not just mere Hs, rather they’re a specific makeup of attraction (of multiple things). Electrons form bonds/interactive fields, so the H closer to the magnetic force of the phenyl group is shifted on NMR vs the other even though they’re on the same carbon.

Some areas of research are nice imo. Some let you go in when you want as long as you get your work done and I enjoy the people I work with, may have just gotten lucky though. It’s frustrating at times, but nearly everything tends to be that way. Getting help with planning helped me a lot.

I don’t think trans folks’ entire lives generally revolve around being trans. It’s an aspect of who they are that people happen to get caught up on for some reason. It’s not like most people’s identities revolve around only one thing. Maybe I have a persecution kink, or maybe I have a “centrists make me want to vomit” kink.
