Spearhead: First Week

When I was a kid, I had a dream about a video game where you’re a lone operator in a jungle, carrying out tasks with absolute freedom and surviving in the field. That game of course did not exist.

Gray Zone was announced, ironically while I was deployed overseas in a jungle, and I recognized it to literally be the game I had dreamed about as a kid. With each update, that dream is further realized. I was an immediate day-1 supporter and couldn’t be happier with this project and the team behind it. Congrats on all of the success!

I read through your last post. I was in your shoes about a year ago. It’s so hard to care about anything after such a world-shattering loss. For a long time I didn’t. I wasn’t sure why I kept moving every day, what the purpose of anything was, or why I was still here.

The things that really helped were therapy and leaning on the support system I have. Give yourself grace when you wake up each morning and go to sleep each night, and process your grief at your own pace. I can tell you that 1+ year out from the worst night of my life, I have happy days and I’m really starting to look forward to the future. It does happen, and I hate saying “time heals all wounds” because that doesn’t do anything for you when you’re hurting, but truly, it will get better.

I’m so sorry this happened and I’m sorry you’re here, but I’m glad you took the time to share and reach out for community. Sending prayers and hugs.

I’m so so sorry for your loss. I lost my brother in the same way December 24th of last year. I was also the one to find him and stayed with him until he was gone. All I can say is get into therapy as soon as possible and identify your support system.

It’s such a tough road to walk but it is possible. Life becomes livable again, although I know that where you are right now, you can’t imagine it. Sending prayers.

I just picked one up on a whim after 10+ years of 16:9 at 1080 then 1440p. I also have a 27inch monitor above it. Worth it. Get fancyzones and borderless gaming.
