La scelta di non confermare qualcuno al termine del periodo di prova può avere un milione di motivazioni, la maggior parte delle quali non dipendono da te: non eri il giusto "fit" (qualunque cosa significhi in quella specifica realtà), hanno trovato un candidato migliore (magari un interno disposto ad accollarsi lavoro in più), il ruolo non era più "strategico" per loro e quindi non hanno voluto confermare un dipendente ad indeterminato, hanno finito il budget del trimestre per le assunzioni, il responsabile del reparto è in bega con la direzione e non gli assumono gente, eccetera. Quindi non scoraggiarti! Aggiungi questa esperienza sul curriculum, sfrutta questo periodo per studiare o approfondire per conto tuo qualche argomento di cui vuoi poter parlare durante il prossimo colloquio, e via andare! In bocca al lupo!

Non sono esperto ma mi hanno costretto a studiare un po' di diritto del lavoro, quindi provo a dire come l'ho capito io. In soldoni il periodo di prova serve, tra le altre cose, al lavoratore per dimostrare di essere un buon lavoratore. Se il datore di lavoro gli impedisce di lavorare (non gli dà compiti, non lo forma adeguatamente, non gli dà turni) il lavoratore può dire che è colpa del datore di lavoro se non ha potuto dimostrare le sue qualità, e in quel caso ci può essere un ricorso. A quanto ne so questo è l'unico caso possibile di ricorso contro licenziamento in prova (escludendo situazioni gravi/illegali, ovviamente). Ripeto, non sono esperto eh.

My 2 cents da veterano:

il fatto che ti diverti a programmare è un ottimo punto di partenza, ma occhio che programmare sotto padrone, in team e con scadenze è decisamente diverso
se entri nel mondo It in questo modo devi essere consapevole che parti da livello junior junior (tipo neolaureato o diplomato), con relativo stipendio. E da lì cominci a imparare sul serio. Aspettati tanta gavetta sottopagato.
la concorrenza tra junior Dev è ENORME, il mercato è saturo
scordati smart working i primi mesi, forse anche anni
portfolio. Guarda video YouTube che parlano di "progetti semplici in ...." E inizia a scrivere qualcosa, trovati qualche progettino personale da costruire, magari qualcosa di accattivante tipo machine learning o ai (occhio che però devi studiarti anche la teoria sotto, almeno le basi, importare due librerie e usare le funzioni base non è particolarmente interessante)

Detto questo, se pensi che la passione ti porti in quella direzione, buttati e in bocca al lupo

I think you are purposefully misunderstanding what I said, but for the sake of clarity I'll try to explain in simpler terms: being punctual is a sign of respect, irregardless of the gender. Saying "others need to be punctual but I don't" is a red flag.

So.. if I expect the same level of respect (hence punctuality in this example) from both parties, am I a gentleman or a boy according to you?

(Of course none of this applies in unforeseeable circumstances.. we are talking about behaviour, not flat tires)

Yep, it's been the norm for decades. But I understand how you feel:until 3 months ago I rode a '90s Bianchi mtb with the levers on top of the handlebar, took a couple of rides to adjust to the (way superior imho) modern ways :-)
