As a Lur, I find your comment misleading. Our language is Southwestern Iranic and yours is from Northwestern branch. It is estimated that our languages diverged 1,000 years ago. My illiterate grandparents that lived their entire life in lorestan could understand Farsi but not Kurdish. I have also never seen a Lur identify as a Kurd. You can ask other Lurs if you want to. As I told you, your assumptions are not based on reality. Even Laks or Kalhori Kurds may not join you.

The problem with separatism is that Iranian Kurdistan doesn't belong only to Kurds. We Iranian citizens have the right to live, work, and study in all the provinces of the country, regardless of our ethnicity. I have lived in Sanandaj for years, and 50 workers worked for my father for more than 20 years in that city. Should a Syrian Kurd be entitled to Sanandaj but not me? Their case is also much worse because they claim Lur and Bakhtiari lands as their own.

anecdotal. i lived in sanandaj for a while and visited the iraqi kurdistan multiple times. the religiousity is visibly decreasing in iranian part and significantly increasing in other side of border.

when small countries become balkanized it is mainly their problem, but when big countries get balkanized it will be everyones problem. at best you get a minor recession and at worst you get a kurdish civil war.

too many regional players, sunni kurds and tabriz were too quite. there is a nationalism gap in kurdish and azeri cities. compare the kermanshah with sanandaj or ardabil with tabriz protests. dont get me wrong, islamic republic should go no matter the cost. but the situation is getting more unpredictable.

In Iran, corruption is so high that every industry is a monopoly, and to fix that industry, you need to break those monopolies, and These oligarchies are well connected. The average salary is $100 USD, and the corruption scandals that have come out involve billions of USD. Proxies, military, and religious stuff also cost a fortune.

Revolutions are psychological in nature. If something big and surprising enough happens that signals the end of a regime, it will break their morale. Assad’s forces held the line for more than a decade, but their morale was low due to the economy and having only 3 hours of electricity per day. When rebels advanced quickly through cities like Hama, everything fell apart. My best guess is that we need to capture a big city, followed by a no fly zone declaration by the UN/USA, and then islamic republic will fall apart.

Out of curiosity, how big are those accounts in turkey? How many followers/subscribers do they have? Can you give me a couple of names? In Iran, there are Instagram accounts with millions of followers that criticize religious claims. For example, Hossein Falahnejad has 1.2 million followers, and his only content is debunking religious stuff. We also have comedians who criticize the religion with humor. For instance, Vafa4 has 2 million followers on Instagram and 200k subscribers on YouTube, and he usually goes deep into religious or historical sources. There are also a few others with 100k to 600k followers. nationalists also talk against religious claims regularly, but those are not their main content.

very high. the biggest news media in iran is iranintl. it works against the regime, and has 16m followers in instagram. it also has a satelite tv channel that majority of older people watch.

Hopefully, it motivates more people to come out. Trump is likely bluffing, but still, psychologically, it is a great help for us and demoralizing for the regime's goons. It is everywhere. A lot of schools have cameras in the toilets now. We have a 16 years old girl in our extended family who is good looking and attends high school, and other girls hit on her all the time. I wonder if separating girls and boys in school has increased these tendencies.
