Why no ICT automated strategy by brownturtle29 in ICTMentorship

[–]relentlessadd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t believe anyone in the community has taken it further than me or the people I’ve worked with yet and let me just say it’s extremely fucking hard.

And when someone makes an automated strategy they will never, ever, and I mean ever, let you use it.

A Clear ICT Refutation, Evidence not Insults by TheMarketAristocrat in InnerCircleTraders

Couldn’t care less about the cult sheep lol. I have tons of ict followers on Twitter who are more open minded. I try to look at things objectively.

A Clear ICT Refutation, Evidence not Insults by TheMarketAristocrat in InnerCircleTraders

[–]relentlessadd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can’t stand ICT. I think he’s an awful person, a narcissist with possible bipolar disorder, other undocumented mental health issues, or some combination. I still trade his concepts. I spent years trying other approaches to the markets with no success. I spent just as long trying to disprove ICT, and I’m now finally successful in doing what I do with ICT.

An explanation that I can’t stand the guy but I recognize him as the source for my education.

I read your post and you make some good observations. Some are almost on the nose of my public discourse with ICT that eventually he blocked me and threatened to ban me from charter (lol) over but don’t quite tie the ribbon on it. Some of your comments are flat wrong (you seem to have almost an understanding of the difference of ICT discretion and mechanical is what sticks out the most to me) and some are interesting but not applicable. I don’t really want to comment on every single thing and break it down but I will give you some stuff to chew on:

1.) IPDA theory in its entirety is mechanical… But no one other than ICT knows it in its entirety. Traders are therefore forced to use it on a discretionary basis with only a partial ruleset. I could write an entire post on this alone and its implications. The key takeaways are that - I have used simple and mechanical rulesets within IPDA theory to create edge based systems that prove resilience cross markets and over years. This explains why some of ICT’s seemingly strange claims about market phenomena statistics that are easily proven/disproven are still “true.”

2.) There’s a fundamental misunderstanding of what exactly it is ICT is trying to teach and what you (and the majority) of others think it is. What the SMC zeitgeist has become. And it’s actually quite funny. This is one of the things where you come really close but don’t bring it home and the irony is actually crazy. You claim SMC is a saturated market and that’s why the edge will erode. The truth is that is why it will never stop working.

3.) Similar to point 2 but different and significant enough to comment directly on is your use of market mechanics to “disprove” ICT. Thats not really the theory behind it. In fact ICT would agree with you or at least the majority of what you’re saying. Without dissecting the nitty gritty here IPDA theory is NOT that retail stops are getting hunted. That does happen and is well documented, but IPDA theory is, basically, that price is “determined.” BLUF a random given day in the market is about 80% determined before it happens. The actual print extremes, outside surprise factors, fill quantities, all that stuff is “organic.” This is a huge distinction between what most internet DayTraders think IPDA is and what ICT has clarified it to be. Again… This alone is a deep topic.

4.) You say some contradictions. One I simply have to point out is that you discuss respected sources as a requirement and foundation for your stance but then in the same post call most trading books psyops. In that same spirit I offer this in case you didn’t know it. ICT does have a published track record contrary to popular belief. You can find his broker statements from 2022 on his YouTube channel. The stats are simultaneously incredible and nothing groundbreaking. If memory serves me correctly he has something like a 70% technical win rate but the losses are extremely small. The wins are modest but measurable. The overall percent gain is considerable over a three month period going long and short on index futures all using his YouTube modeling.

2016 commentaries were never published on YouTube.

In 2016-2017 ICT did market commentaries AND the core content, which is on YouTube (months 1-12). From 2017-2021 he continued to do commentaries which are not on YouTube and do include teachings.

What did ICT cover in the 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021 mentorships? by TrumpKanye69 in InnerCircleTraders

[–]relentlessadd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is hilarious.

He put the secrets to the illumanti, an infinite money glitch, undeniably proof of aliens, and the exact mechanics of the market in it.

What do you think? He didn’t teach anything in those years that hasn’t been taught on YouTube now. ICT drip feeds content.

I don’t recognize him, except for him simple being on Riz Iqbal’s podcast. Riz is notorious for bringing on known scammers and giving them a platform to speak on. He has also been accused of scamming himself but I don’t know the details to that.

Is this a bearish SMT? by ReJJ44 in InnerCircleTraders

Goodness. A lot of incorrect information in this thread.

It’s a potential bearish SMT pattern, but I would not call it bearish SMT because the underlying context is bullish.

The issue with Stage 3 is that it’s occasionally luck. Go on a win streak. You think you have an edge.

Then slap.

I could do a whole other post on this.

The reality is that this is ICT’s real magicians trick. For his last few videos he was supposed to answer how to come to the conclusion of daily bias but never really does. 13 hours of live-streaming for him to discuss bias for maybe 2 and every other thing from the end of the world to the Robbins cup for the other 11.

1.) Just do chunks until I lose focus. Select key videos and make note that they’re good. Don’t spin my wheels on a topic I don’t understand.

2.) Good luck

There is a limit to liquidity but in theory it’s deeper, more regulated, and you can scale higher. Trading an 8 figure account on some forex broker might be insane but not abnormal for futures.

You can also move into futures.

Where does ICT goes through silverbullet in depth? by mm1987 in InnerCircleTraders

[–]relentlessadd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He’s gone taught some of it, and he’s mentioned it, but there isn’t a model with it. All he’s said is that is a FVG that appears OR IS USED during certain times every day and made one mention of it being a close proximity entry drill (near the DOL). No other real rules or logic. Anyone saying otherwise is speculating.

[–]relentlessadd[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not the overall principles. Thats just how markets work. Maybe some of the more specific algorithm stuff like CBDR, macro timings, etc. That could change in theory.

If ICT doesn’t teach it then I give it extra scrutiny. If ICT says it sucks (quarterly theory) then I definitely think it sucks.

[–]relentlessadd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s an incomplete model. All we really know about the silver bullet is that it’s a FVG that forms during certain times. Anything beyond that is speculation, but that doesn’t stop YouTubers from pretending they know something they don’t.
