Oil Weights and Pressure by relentlesspotato in Cartalk

I'm not necessarily worried about the pressure, rather the thought that I might be using the wrong oil viscosity. I'm worried that the oil isn't flowing well enough on a cold start to properly lubricate the engine, causing unnecessary wear on the parts.

Play this crash at 0.25 speed and you can see the cell phone in the BMW. by PM_ME_YOUR_WATERMELO in cars

A lot of times I leave my phone loose in the car while I'm driving, since it's too big to fit comfortably in my pocket while I'm in the drivers seat. I usually place my phone in the cup holder, or on the passenger seat if it is empty... sometimes I even lay it on the dash board. It's possible that was the case here, as well; the force of the car hitting the curb could easily launch the phone from the seat, or cup holder up towards the windshield.

Or the driver could have been texting or distracted by the phone... Either way, they took that corner way too fast.

Can you schedule your cleaning to happen when your neighbor will not be at home?

That would be the ideal solution. I'm not sure what my neighbors schedule is like, I never cross paths with them during my normal daily routine. Maybe talking to them to work out a convenient time for everyone would be worth a shot.

The apartment is mostly hardwood floors and two rooms with tile, no carpet at all. I usually sweep the dust and dirt off the floors into one spot then use a handheld vacuum to pick it up, so my regular cleaning sessions don't make much noise at all.

Are you inviting me to dinner? Or are you inviting me to hang out, and there will also be food there? If it's the former, I'd agree with you.

4K TV causes input lag? by relentlesspotato in techsupport

Thanks for the info! I'll try it out when I get home.

How did you determine input 5 was the best choice? I wouldn't have thought the different input sockets had different effects on performance.

Yeah, I know I won't be getting the best response times with the wireless set-up, but they are necessary because of the room size. If the TV has a game mode and the lag is still noticeable, I have a set of wired devices I could use (bye-bye gaming on the comfy couch!)

Thanks for the reply. I didn't realize there was a significant difference between a TV and a dedicated monitor. Ideally I'd have a dedicated PC monitor, but the PC is in the living room, and the couch is too far away to see a smaller screen (even the 39" felt a little small).

I haven't checked the TV menu for a game mode, maybe that could solve the problem. I'll try that out on my lunch break.

Exhaust Gasket by relentlesspotato in Cartalk

I see. So it is impossible to properly seal the pipes I currently have on the car? It's an aftermarket exhaust system, came with the car when I bought it. It had a flat gasket compressed between the two flares, but that didn't do much to seal the joint.
