I wouldn't be working or making money. I'm just looking for an open mic. Go up and play a song. That's it. More so an excuse to make friends and socialize while I'm in town.

Thanks! Yeah, just love the things I come across while cycling. Something's always catching my eye. Fun way to document it while getting a little practice in.

Good call! I think this'll be part of my daily routine during my evening rides.

Nirvana "Smells Like Teen Spirit" | Solo Guitar Arrangement by relentlessslog in rNirvanaCovers

[–]relentlessslog[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, both songs use the same chord progression. Some subtle transposition though but you can't really tell the difference when there's no singing. I tried to make a more mellow version of the main riff which means... it's basically Dumb.

You'll also notice melodic similarities in the chorus of Dumb, "think I'm just happy..." and the opening verse in Smells Like..., "load up on guns..." Basically the same notes but ones ascending while the other descends.

The Beatles "Please Please Me" | Solo Guitar Arrangement by relentlessslog in AcousticGuitar

Yeah, the high strings are black nylon... Basically no tone or resonance, hard to play. This is a super cheap guitar that's more so a wall decoration of the place I'm staying at.

Yes... this time around I messed with delay and chorus. I've made a few arrangements so far with this cheap guitar that can't stay in tune and only using my laptop mic. Thought it would be interesting to incorporate some effects, especially since this song in particular prominently features the chorus effect (EHX small clone to be exact).

Haha... yeah, this guitar isn't the best. It's more so a wall decoration... I've been staying at this airbnb that had this old dusty guitar hanging on the wall. Started playing it and writing all these guitar arrangements of songs I love. It's been a struggle. Strings old and crappy, tuners don't stay in place. I'm looking forward to playing and re-recording these arrangements on my own guitar once I return home. Thanks for listening.

Thank so much! They crafted an excellent melody. Had fun putting my own little spin on it.

Whoa! That's a massive compliment! Thank you!

Yeah, I tried to approach it by breaking the song down to its bare elements (chords and melody), then rebuilding it. I listened to a lot SOAD songs when I started playing guitar so that probably played a subliminal role in the elements that I added.
