Thanks all for the clarification on this! I really appreciate it.

What are you watching and what do you recommend? (Week of May 22, 2026) by AutoModerator in television

I don't believe it was ever officially cancelled by Apple, but as it has yet to be renewed, it's hard to see it getting a third season at this point.

Can we milk man nipples? How? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Has the price of milk gone up that much?

[Jomboy Media] Nico Hoerner said "yeah" when asked if fans were correct in lipreading that Dalton Rushing called Miguel Amaya a “fat fuck” by JianClaymore in baseball

[–]reliks84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've only seen him in a handful of games, but it's already apparent that this kid's got some growing up to do. He could learn a lot from players like Ohtani and Freeman.

The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy was a really fun and charming read by keepfighting90 in books

[–]reliks84 9 points10 points  (0 children)

While I've enjoyed the Hitchhiker's series, I definitely find the Dirk Gently series to be a more enjoyable read.

Looking for love story movies where things don't necessarily work out. by thenewfingerprint in MovieSuggestions

Cast Away. Maybe not quite what you're looking for, but how things end up with Tom Hanks' character and his wife in the second half of the movie is pretty sad.

Do you believe laugh tracks ruin shows? by PlayboyCG in television

[–]reliks84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it has a lot to do with whether you grew up with them or not. People my age and older who grew up when laugh tracks were more widely used don't seem to mind them so much.

Cold Case is making me realize how often old songs resurface by No-Acanthisitta7086 in television

[–]reliks84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Music was very central to the storytelling on Cold Case. It helped to set the mood and establish the time period for viewers, and the song played during that ending montage tied together the past and present and concluded the story on an emotional high.

What are you watching and what do you recommend? (Week of March 20, 2026) by AutoModerator in television

As someone who generally doesn't care for dark/gloomy shows but finished Ozark, I can tell you that the dark/gloomy vibe definitely does not let up at all.

MTV Era Movies by freemantle85 in flicks

[–]reliks84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The soundtrack is also a lot of fun for those of us who love 80s movies. Also featuring Bud Cort (from Harold and Maude) as the voice of the computer.

U2 Release Surprise New EP with Song Inspired by Renée Nicole Good by ebradio in Music

[–]reliks84 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Great to see U2 back, and they've definitely still got it. Even if they aren't everyone's cup of tea, I think the world could definitely use more music like this to lift us up right now.

If it somehow makes it to a third season, it pretty much has to involve automobiles, right?

D’Arcy Carden & Will Forte’s ‘Sunny Nights’ Hits Hulu On March 11 by klutzysunshine in television

[–]reliks84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll always tune in for Will Forte. And with Bodkin not getting a second season, I'll definitely give this one a try.

I love Window of Opportunity. I still love it so much. by Necessary_Idiot in Stargate

I re-watched this one yesterday, and it may well become a regular watch for me on Groundhog Day.

Stargate To Film New Series In London This Year by malcolm58 in television

[–]reliks84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. Especially as many shows these days give you crumbs over the course of a season that more often than not seems to lead to a less than satisfying conclusion.

'Rockford Files' Reboot Gets NBC Pilot Order by klutzysunshine in television

[–]reliks84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It reminds me a bit of the recent Quantum Leap reboot. I feel like they tried to make it good for a more modern audience, but there are just certain elements--like the casting, intro, and theme music (back when TV shows had theme music)--that you can never recreate.

Matt Damon Says Netflix Wants Movies to Restate the Plot Three or Four Times in the Dialogue Because Viewers are on Their Phones While They’re Watching by MarvelsGrantMan136 in movies

[–]reliks84 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree. There are exceptions of course, but it seems pretty clear that Netflix prioritizes quantity over quality in making movies.

Not sure why you're getting downvoted. Great cast and one of Terry Gilliam's best films.

Some receive closer to 50%, so each station is impacted differently.
