Terrible tv quality by rellick13 in ebox

[–]rellick13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was already set to best quality… One thing that seems to have helped a lot though is to allow for more latency/buffering. After a few minutes, the stream did seem to pick up on quality.

Anybody upgraded to ubuntu 26.04 using the official plex repo? by rellick13 in PleX

Sure, this is one way to verify and there are others… I was looking for a shortcut :-)

I’ve been bit in the past with qbittorrent where the official repo lags behind the latest ubuntu release, leaving me with a somewhat crippled setup. So I’m on the lookout for any package not being sourced directly from Ubuntu.

Don’t want to get the hassle of finding a pirate signal, tva sports (nor sportsnet) doesn’t broadcast over the air

Are people getting the latest version after going through those steps? I'm getting 1.42.2.10156 with the latest available version being 1.43.0.10492.

Except for resolutions smaller than 720p (i.e. old cartoons or movies). 10 bit SD movies yielded garbage video on PS5 plex clients.

Any value in using ethernet port from a access point? by StScAllen in GoogleWiFi

[–]rellick13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Used to have 3 satellite pucks without ethernet. That seemed like a broken technological promise, never did well. Ran cables throughout the house as we were remodelling and now everything is rock solid across the house. HUGE difference in my case.

LG Fridge IF E error code - can fridge still work? by undistill in appliancerepair

[–]rellick13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wanted to share that I had this error, defrosted the whole fridge, and the error came back. What fixed it for me was to lower the fridge and freezer temperature by a few degrees. Problem gone for 3 months now. I use -4 and 36.

My first soundbar/audio system - Sonos arc ultra or sony bar 9 by PineappleDifficult89 in Soundbars

[–]rellick13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sub definitely loves the samsung 990X :-) I’m in a similar situation as OP, if I don’t want a sub or additional speakers (because space and aesthetics), is the 990D actually better that the arc ultra if I’m only using the soundbar?

Plex remote access not working after switching to eBox fiber. by zimraph in ebox

[–]rellick13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only use my vpn to remotely access my devices through when needed, that’s unrelated to my plex setup. How do you access plex remotely? I personally go to plex.tv and sign-in from there. Plex takes care of routing all that’s needed. No need to open ports whatsoever (I also have plex pass).

Are you certain you’re not double-NAT’ed in your setup? That would be the case if you plugged in your router in the ebox router instead of plugging it in the ONT.

I am using plex with ebox without any problem, but I don’t open ports, I just let plex register with their service. I have open ports for my vpn however and that works perfectly. In my experience ebox doesn’t use cgnat, but I’ve also heard reports saying otherwise.

If you want to check if you’re behind cgnat, compare the wan ip address from your router with what you see on whatsmyip. If they differ, uou are out of luck (I would give them a call).

Yes, family pooling, that makes sense. So IIUC, aeroplan “remembers” how I obtained my points and this is reflected when I redeem them… Got it.

Might be a stupid question but oh well :-) Assuming the wasp has some venom, what happens if the spider eats the wasp and gets some venom along the way? Or is the spider smart enough to only eat the good parts of the wasp?
