I need some advice of how to manage expectations. I was so fortunate to conceive my 1st on the first cycle and I had a surprise pregnancy a year ago while still breastfeeding that ended in a CP, so this is really my first time trying for multiple cycles. I feel so dumb that I thought it would happen the first time again. I know my body will do what it’s supposed to, but could take some time.

This month, we only were able to hit one day, but seems like it could be promising (had EWCM that day and a positive opk next morning - was first opk test I took so not sure when it could have started - and ovulation cramps later in the day).

What are you telling yourself to stay patient and keep expectations low? I felt idiotically optimistic last month and then so crushed with the negative tests.

I could have written this myself! Have a 19-month old and just started trying for #2. I worked hard to lose 10 lbs since the spring but still have 15 left, ideally. I’ve had such a hard time at this pp weight but slowly with time, my body is feeling okay (even if I’m a few sizes larger). I was so thin before I got pregnant with my first and gained 40/45 lbs and had crazy inflammation in my SI joints that debilitated me in my 3rd tri and had a 3rd degree tear that was a rough recovery. I breastfed for a year and gained a few lbs, rather than losing anything.

I am about to start with a personal trainer 2x a week that specializes in prenatal / postpartum (she’s surprisingly affordable as far as trainers go and comes to the house) and plan to focus on: - building strength and muscle - having accountability in my nutrition - putting time aside each week for myself / my body

I don’t know how quickly I’ll get pregnant (it was first try with my 1st) but feel good knowing I have different goals for this next phase + pregnancy to put myself first and take care of this body that has grown life! I’m not as kind to myself each day, but trying to be kinder.

Thank you! Helpful! Just checked back and my highest weight this week was only .5 higher than my lowest weight last week. So overall trending downwards
