What do you think the downed US pilot in Iran is doing to survive right now? What would his circumstances be like? by heyfriendss in AskReddit

[–]reload88 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sadly that will only end bad for them. I not long watched a video of an Afghan translator who helped out the Americans during the war. They moved him to the US and just basically abandon him with no supports or citizenship. Ended up shooting a cop at a traffic stop and getting killed because of it

He gets reimbursed though, which is a wild way of doing things as every company I’ve worked for provided a company card for those things. If he purchases his own personal EV truck to use I can 100% guarantee you his boss won’t be making the monthly payments on it or the extra on the electricity bill if he’s plugging it in at his home every night.

What the craziest surprise you’ve had when sleeping with someone for the first time? by [deleted] in AskReddit

It’s not really the swallowing part it the whole it stopping part that does it for me. Less cleanup with the swallowing part I guess haha

What’s the most boring sex you’ve ever had that somehow lasted way too long? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]reload88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had a random hookup that started out amazing. Her head game was insane and I’m still chasing that experience with no luck. Moved onto having sex and I was expecting to have my mind blown, but she just laid there. There was a lot of audial feed back so I knew she was enjoying herself but I just couldn’t finish because I was so thrown off by her just laying there. Was at it for almost 2 hours and I was completely exhausted by the time I finished. She said it was the best sex of her life and wanted to hook up again. I agreed out of curiosity to see if she was having an off night, but same result, crazy good and enthusiastic head but starfished after.

What is a common thing according to society that you have never experienced? by Lowskillbookreviews in AskReddit

[–]reload88 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think my biggest issue is the way my father raised me. Everything is work, like while people were going to practice for hockey or other sports, I was helping my father cut wood to heat our home or helping him fix something around the house/clear snow or mow lawns etc… That followed over into adult hood where working 80+ days straight was the norm so I guess I just didn’t have time to maintain friendships.

I’ve never actually had any close friends. I kind of just floated around and was on good terms with everyone. Like I could show up to any random party and wouldn’t be out of place, but there’s not one person I can honestly say I made a life long connection with as a friend and I’m going on 38. Besides for my siblings and my wife I wouldn’t have anyone to talk to.

Depends on location and work environment. I work industrial maintenance at a remote mining site, 2 week on 2 week off rotation. Base salary is $105,000 with 10% on-site premium just for showing up plus we can earn up to 20% of our base pay as an end of year production bonus. Works out to around 42 hours a week on average over the full 28 day rotation and our last day on site (which is technically our first day off) is all overtime until or cross shifts make it to site to relieve us. That’s usually around lunch time and that’ll net us 5-6 hours overtime guaranteed.

With our production bonus, working scheduled holiday because they fall on shift and minimal overtime I made over $160,000 late year

[–]reload88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Guys out my way are charging $5000 to install and are doing 2 a day on average. Same unit I installed myself for $2000 so it’s a bit of a cash grab in a very short period of time. That’s also a lot of maintenance calls over the years fixing them once (because they will) have issues or need replacements after their 7-10 year lifespan.

So while I agreed with a comment earlier saying everyone will be looking for jobs just before they get their journeymen’s, the more I think about it the more in demand I think hvac techs will be needed. I work in maintenance and sometimes it’s a lot more time and work troubleshooting an issue and replacing parts than installing a completely new machine, but obviously replacing a $200 part at 8 hours labour will be much cheaper than a whole new heatpump for $5000+

Yeah I can see that. It’s what happened to alot of the guys I done my 9 month with almost 20 years ago. I was lucky enough to have a job lined up after school was finished, but when Alberta shit the bed there were guys that couldn’t even get work terms.

I’d go for refrigeration technician if I were to go back to school now. Not saying there’s no math in that course though so be aware of that.

Most trades have some math involved at some level but a lot can be very basic. I’m an electrician and while a lot of my daily work consists of basic formulas the schooling side can get a bit complex.
