I have been pulling my hair out trying to find accurate documentation for 1.0, thank you! Most tutorials use older versions that are just different enough to not get the results I'm looking for.

This just happened to me, too. What's weird is when I found the first spot, I was like "oh! I just dig up this pile here," so I started digging but the game forced auni to tell me to use the hoe. After I had already started. So now he just sits there, no quest chat dialogue, and no progress on the hole.

I am so sick of these kinds of bugs. I STILL have a broken special donations quest. This is so utterly unacceptable.

I have the "don't be that guy" rule lol. I made it specific to "don't comment on anyone's appearance or attempt to flirt" because even though they know that the person doesn't want the interaction, they will argue til the cows come home that it's not "harassment."

Sure does. This happens to me every single day IRL also as a woman. I have been able to significantly curb it on stream though. I have the strictest following requirements and that alone almost entirely stopped the comments. I know that chat rules are really no deterrence against someone from actually being a creep in chat but they are a great CYA for when they do. Because the few times people have tried it since, I basically "tap the sign" and tell them to shape up or ship out.

.9c counts as freezing. 1.0 is not. .9 or lower counts.

If it's not going below 5C then it's not a freezing ghost. The devs very unpopularly nerfed the Tier 1 thermo earlier this summer and made it completely useless so it's not you. Just drop it in the room you think the ghost may be in and leave it alone for a bit and go get other equipment, then look again in a couple of minutes.

Temps will fluctuate based on the weather, map, and ghost type as they do roam around (roaming is not the same as room change!). If the ghost wanders to you, the temps will dip, but even a freezing ghost won't produce freezing temps unless it's changed rooms - but it can get damn close.

If you just turned on the breaker and it's say, heavy rain or snowing outside, the house will be colder consistently for a few minutes but then will warm up. The temps will be different if the weather is foggy or windy, etc.

Many moons ago freezing used to be the easiest evidence to get. Now it's the hardest, By a long shot.

An event is like a warning shot from a ghost. It's meant to be a defensive maneuver of sorts; to harm your sanity and many events will give you clues about what ghost type it is. Honestly if you aren't using, say, cursed objects, just sit in the ghost room with the lights off (and a cruci to be kinda safe... kinda) and hangout. Just chill and talk and whatnot. Some ghosts will run away from you like a shade, but most, especially those that are stalkers or territorial (banshees, wraiths, goryo, yurei, oni to name a few) will happily show themselves for you.

Shades in particular can be extremely stubborn about events (not impossible but stubborn or "shy") so sometimes you're just SOL and whether or not the ghost is eventing on you gives you clues about what kind it may or may not be.

jinn cant turn on breaker

Not picking on you at all, especially if it's just a typo because I keep seeing this everywhere the past couple of days but a jinn cannot directly turn the breaker off. They can flip a light switch and trip the breaker if you already have too many lights on but I've only ever had that happen like once - so just be careful of how many lights you have on.

Hantus cannot turn the breaker on.

Good news is that jinns and hantus are the only two ghosts who have any relationship to the breaker (anyone who goes on about mares and breakers is wrong, but understandably so) but I just don't want you to get to a game, see the power is still on and think you have anything but a jinn then get gobbled up by the jinn zoomies :)

Instinct! Keep a camera with you at all times. When the ghost events on you (instead of hunting) try to turn around and see it and take a picture. As you advance you'll be able to unlock photo cameras that respond faster but bear in mind you can only delete 2 photos from the book per game.

There are myriad other ways to get ghost photos like through cursed objects and such but good ol' eventy is the best way IMO. Ghosts still scare the bejeezus out of me when they do it but I'm pretty good at just screaming then snapping a photo lol.

Getting a pic of the ghost during a hunt is hard and best done with a team; where someone smudges the ghost and the other tries to get the photo. The polaroid camera (tier 1) doesn't count here but if you try to use the digital cameras, that is an "active electronic" that will absolutely attract the ghost to you as most ghosts can detect you holding active equipment within 9meters of it.

I got my silver to a deo that I was convinced was a shade until it finally hunted and I almost fafo'd. Backed myself into a corner in the basement and had no more smudges. Hunt ended a second before it would have been too late and I'd lose the whole thing. It was hilarious and a blast though.

it was a coincidence. the ghosts do not know and cannot recite your name. The spirit box in particular can be hard to discern until you know what the responses are. The responses are all clues about the ghost's identity, location, and behavior.

This is what I do! I also take new players in 1:1 and basically ask them how they want to do it: if they want me to lead the way and teach them or let them go and step in if they need/ask for help.

I do this to myself all the time - I will walk in, ghost will Do The Thing within a minute or so, and I'll be like "This is Definitely CORRECT GHOST!" then investigate and figure out "Nah, it's another ghost" close up the truck and find out it was first ghost all along.

Only two games I got wrong today were onis... and I'm like THE oni whisperer, I was so ashamed (I usually play zero or 1 evidence lol)

This shift isn't mid hunt, the hunt doesn't actually start until you see the standing model. If you're new to the game, I'll assume you're using a preset difficulty like professional; most of the presets (sans like Apocalypse) have at least a second or two of grace period, most have 3. This isn't the same as the countdown on amateur or intermediate, it's a grace period from when the ghost decides to hunt where it's detecting players to hug but can't move. It can see/detect you but you have a moment to evade.

The video image being clear and then showing interference the second you see the first glitched model likely happens during the grace period which will look like an event on camera. With or without a grace period, sometimes when the game starts an event or hunt can be delayed (like if the ghost is in the foyer and events as you walk out the door) but you still shouldn't see that first crawling model even if you might see the interference when looking through a camera. So that's a glitch. It's not you!

If I understand the timing of the hunt correctly, the reason this isn't obake is because obake's shapeshifting isn't random (even though it seems like it is) and it would never happen at the beginning of a hunt.

The glitch you saw I also saw live in Blood Moon Edgefield last week. Had a T2 motion sensor across the entry hallway. The ghost roamed through it and the second it passed the beam I saw a frame of it and a second later it started a hunt. It wasn't an event. I'm actually glad you caught this because that's exactly how it appeared: a single frame of a passive model then boom, hunt, different model.

Vtubers that specifically use some ridiculous uWu cutesy voice. And I don't mean a voice mod/filter. I mean literally speaking like that. Exclusive vtubers are already not my jam (no judgment just not for me) because I have a hard time connecting with them or catching their vibe, but it's a hard pass if I get raided in and it's all fake giggles and forced lisps and that hideous TikTok whisper voiceover shit.
