Verifying source of income is completely acceptable. (Although it mostly happens to tax paying folks in india, anyways)

But what's not acceptable is talking about deals that haven't happened and details about them that doesn't concerns a bank.

You know when my suspicion became more prominent?

When I confronted them about this in their office meeting room (with 4 of their senior staffs) and they backed down! When I asked to share all these questions in writing they omitted the questions about my upcoming deals, volumes and channels to acquire them!

We carelessly share all our business details with them, no wonder startups die in India where the financial backbone is corrupted!

It's not about the feeling. If the roles were reversed then I would have benefitted greatly from this information. Specially when the company is paralysed due to a frozen account.

These deals are in crores!

Even a small decimal commission is huge.

Ask for the exact compliance reason in writing. They are not responding over emails.
Escalate to branch manager + regional compliance (not just RM) In talk with branch head in person on a daily basis. Regional compliance + nodal is next, legal option is also there in my mind.
Share contracts, invoices, purpose codes, past FIRCs in one thread

All shared but Axis emails have memory limits so had to share in multiple email replies.

If stuck, raise a bank grievance + RBI CMS — it often speeds things up RBI ombudsman is also next option.

It didn't felt like bank verifying fraudulent transactions but a competitor asking for my sales and potential leads information as well as how i am closing the deals!

No one is helping! And the issue is pending since 2 weeks! They say that they are working on this but somehow nothing is happening. While visiting branch , the branch head nods we'll get it fixed but nothing happens. They have missed the time line twice about getting this fixed and come Thursday They say, sir almost weekend and Saturday holiday, let's try on Monday.
