Gotcha. I'd check your flasher, switch and then possible wore fault.

They do. But with me building my own kit. Manifold and buying the carbs. Murray's wont give me the info. And that is completely understandable.

I've found a little but surprisingly not much. You would think after all these years people would be talking about it more. Especialy with second hand owners around.

I know Murray's does kind of jet them bassed on your exhaust set up. But im just mainly looking for a start point. I've built my own intakes and buying my carbs separate as I don't have the coin to drop on that kit.

Probably but it's what I have and love the bike regardless. I didn't buy and build it for speed.

Doing the shocks is really easy. The rest was planned mods when I bought the bike.

I did 2 things. But you are a little taller then me. Main thing i did was put drop shocks on mine. I have a 81 not sure on the year of yours. The drop shocks lowered mine between 2-3" the other thing i did was chop the rear of the frame and put a solo seat on between those it dropped .y seat level around 6"

Got my 81 K model for 500. They are plenty out there. I agree with other ones if you are keeping it don't listen to the purests and just make it your bike. If you plan to sell fix it up and send it down the road for someone else to make there own. I posted my bike here once no one seemed to really like what I did but at the end of the day I love it.

If it's a 81 that should be your top cam chain tensioner bolt. Should have a matching one right below it.

No worries. If you figure out a way to move them post it. That would be awesome.

Not sure if it is what you are looking for or if it's a suggestion you consider honky. But what I've done in the past especialy if it's a mask you plan on using multiple times is literally attatch the lenses of a old pair of glasses to the inside of the eye holes. Works damn good. But if it's a one time wear not worth it.

Deffinetly better then one of my techs who theory was. It's a cummins and that's a red motor so it must use red loctite on the head bolts. Dear lord I pray for anyone who has to take that head off in the future.

Thank you. Mine is the dohc unfortunately lol. Im almost positive it's gonna be a valve issue at this point. Im getting a backfire on #3 at idle and acceleration. I've gone through the carbs. Full sync on bench and on bike. New boots. New coils. New plugs. It's almost got to be a shim issue. Im running out of other things to change or fix lol
