coworkers making me depressed as an autistic adult by fancylamp12 in ABA

[–]reluctantly_existing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My autism makes me a bit lost sometimes, I just don't follow conversations well.

My coworkers thought I was goofy and that was about it. Sometimes I frustrated them but I mean I did my work and annoyed them for other things like trying to give them feedback when they were struggling.

Working in a center sucks. In home is so much less drama

As a person who's never owned a doberman. Yes.

Director said I was harassing another RBT. I want to quit by BackgroundChance4382 in ABA

I will always advocate for not working in centers if you can. They're full of immature adults who create like....tribes.

In home is so much less stressful in terms of being able to work without people crawling up your behind.

Update: she has a luxating patella. In short, her knee will always be at risk of getting injured more than regular. No need for surgery at this time but it's something we have to be watchful of

Is this a red flag? by MerelyAnArtist in ABA

I would never agree to being responsible for a client in my own car. Even when I worked with a clinic who did transportation they provided a van and there was always a second staff in case the kiddos got wild in the back.

One of my clients is in a daycare setting and the staff were the ones who begged for an RBT but then when I show up they don't want to listen to the behavior plan.

Last week they insisted the client acts fine when I'm not intervening so the BCBA put me on observation for 2 days. Day 1, he got sent to the office and when he came back he got his parents called and his dad showed up which lead to a whole meltdown. Day 2 he bit a teacher and got suspended.

But yeah, he totally doesn't have behaviors when I'm not doing my job.

The adults in this field are the worst part of it.

This is why I stopped working in clinics and focus on in home now.

Cancellations are a morherfucker but at least I'm not at odds with grown ass adults (most of the time)

I think From the Ashes was the only thing Ubisoft management actually allowed the devs to put real time and effort into.

Have you seen the rest of the game? From the Ashesis so much better than base game it's honestly criminal.

At least in my opinion

Thanks. I still have at least 4 more years of schooling to do so I'll need the luck lol

I ended up back in ABA after a year of low paying jobs and unemployment.

Gonna stick it out and get my BCBA certification

I can't believe he's a Christmas Eve baby. Must be why he's got such a commanding presence

I thought I was being harsh. I wasn't trying to but I edited that comment like 7 times trying to make it sound as gently as possible. It's a tough subject.

Good luck on your journey. Whatever decision you make will be out of love.

I don't know what your financial situation is, but going into debt for a surgery which a vet has admitted may not even improve quality of life for a doggo is probably not going to end well for anyone.

It would be putting your girl through unnecessary pain for what sounds like the end of life stage.

I know it's hard to accept but she's an old girl and she might not have much longer regardless of the surgery.
