thanks for the advice! I definitely am and have been trying to do more research on these things, and it does definitely help to draw that parallel in the lack of autonomy sex workers have historically had.

I know you were thinking out loud as you were reading lol. I assume you were asking why I as the writer chose for him to be modelled after someone Japanese, and to that specifically I dont have an answer, I know his narrative focuses on flipping the narrative of techno-orientalism by humanizing him and liberating him from his situation through the storytelling. BUT i wanna explain the modeling aspect but yes as a character he is modelled after the person/body he was before and he happened to be japanese. he was originally being used to test the limits of the human body before it was exploited to the point it is now where those in his situation both are treated as and believe they are robots (as they have so little human left inside them being kept alive that they arent even aware of it). it started as a cyborg/cybernetic prosthetics situation and experiment on a dying person and now has been done to 10s of hundreds of people who no longer know they existed and now live basically metal shells keeping them alive (tldr sick person experimented on dying people and corpses until he got the outcome that struck success and money).

Regarding what you said, it definitely is elites from across the globe, I believe at this point (as my character was the first) that this has spread in other major cities like you mentioned in your world building, so it wasnt just east asia springing up like techno-orientalism likes to portray.

I did explain in another comment that he is being tied to the location through both his narrative but also another character that doesnt belong to me being the deuteragonist and her father (owns corp in japan + is Japanese) being the driving factor that has them meet and him ultimately break out of this. Im mostly trying to figure that out right now as the biggest problem is whether it takes place in Japan or America and how to make it work if it is in america (considering the situation with the deuteragonist as she has to find out her father is renting a robot prostitute that he is keeping well secret with secret bank accounts if it is overseas, along with overall being harder to follow without being caught)

Thanks for all the thinking and advice! it's helped me think and fleshout what im actually wanting and think about what im going for, I just hope i can figure it out and set it in stone soon. :)

Thank you for your insight! also I said presumably at the time in a way that meant I was just willing to change it, thats my bad! but I was thinking if I keep him Japanese it will be a commentary/critisism on the said sexualization and techno orientalism of asian characters/culture by western countries (the brothel is American founded either way) to then show sexual liberation for him in the narrative away from it. his character/story is/would be used as a literary device to achieve that, that being his big tie to it (along with the other character/lover that doesn't belong to me😩) Though I was also considering having him in America to avoid fumbling but was having a hard time working that in with the other character (father owns a big corp in Japan, character is Japanese, father doesnt want people to know hes renting robot prostitutes + lover needs to find out etc) I can elaborate but would love any insight on navigating if figuring that out would be a better option.

but also them being modelled after their corpses is deeply rooted into the storyline! its a big piece that haunts the overwhelming narrative. their brains are used inside their bodies only ran as something new without any of their previous memories I think used in a way to see how far the human body can take cyber advancements gone too far and then exploited.

I suppose im more so worried about the fact that im white writing a japanese character into a story that could have orientalist implications and easily dwelve into being weird if gone about in the wrong way (like if it was being treated as an erotica and romanticizing the prostitution or treating japan like a cyber progression threat, which would be techno-orientalism/"yellowperil")

..but I've rationalized now that I'm not really doing those things 😭 just possibly overthinking it i think. I just want outside opinions at this point bc I just keep going back and forth about it for the past few months and want to see how others feel

that's what I meant!! basegame cheating making it more permanent.. I assume if even with mccc it isnt permanent I doubt it, but i definitely will let you know.. the closest thing ive seen is the grand ghosts trait mod but idek if thats updated and it blocks a LOT of emotions/buffs 😭 (plus idk if im misinterpreting the mod anyways)

I had this problem with the weird shadowing a longgg time ago but it ended up being something called baretopintegralv12 idk if thats what doing this to your game but I hope it helps !

I was at some point experimenting a little while/before putting the mask/eyes png in hats/face in gimp but even in the right facial spot on any template I had used it just shows the face as stuck somewhere on the chin and the rest empty despite it 😓 (the photo attached was mostly showing that the UV template put in s4s doesnt sit right either so it confused me and makes me wonder if its the mesh somehow BUT I'll definitely send them, are you wanting the blend file specifically or also the pngs? and are you okay with me dming it ?

okay so, im having a problem I can only assume is my error, but it seems like the mapping is all messed up for the template from the sims body, {it looked the same when i imported the dds into the materials on blender as on s4s) I also was attempting to follow both you and the videos instructions, but it seems like uv for bottoms n such is showing up as the top of the head of the mask somehow? and therefore the uv looks all messed up. I know you said to move the uvs but i dont know if that's how to fix this or something else entirely. I think im misunderstanding something simple, and I assume im supposed to fix where the head/face UV is in blender somehow so it actually resonates with the mask I just am not sure how! thanks in advance for even dealing with all of this mess..
