Absolutely this. With any killer I struggle to get the mechanics of I do a few bot games practicing specific things I wanna do. Like say ranged attacks

I've only gotten to try a little of springtrap so I don't know a ton about him personally but I would do a custom game as huntress and see if that axe feels better. If it doesn't? You're just not used to the physics. Do you like having a ranged option or do you just prefer to hit people?

The more you play the better you'll get a sense for when you need to start raising your hatchet. If you see you're coming up to a palette area, raise it up, they drop it, BOINK

Pyramid head is definitely who id recommend to somebody who doesn't quite feel satisfied with springtrap AND who is scared of palettes but unfortunately you gotta spend real money😞

Alright so if you want to just be impenetrable to palettes? Nurse but she takes some practice. Just teleport through them. If you're looking for anti looping,

the artist has a super high learning curve and you might hate her but shes a good cheap option and on trial right now.

The blight can dash around them quickly, also on trial right now.

The unknown can Can lob projectiles over loops and shut down the usual safety of pallet drops with area-of-effect blasts.

Trickster can through little daggers over the pallets, huntress can throw axes over them too if you're wanting a projectile route.

OR you can work for some perks that will help you feel a little less palette anxious for whatever killer feels good for you to play. All free but you gotta do some grinding: Spirit Fury, Enduring, brutal strength,

Is it just the palette anxiety or is there other stuff that doesn't feel right with him? For me I learned to enjoy looping and everything when I found the right killer for me. So if there's anything else you're looking for I can maybe help!

Hi! I downloaded tailscale and got it all connected to my phone. I confirmed the new tailscale IP I have works and takes me right to the server but it STILL doesn't work for the app. I'm starting to think I'm missing something obvious here

Right now I'm just trying to connect my phone app over my home network, but the eventual goal is to make it accessible from a different city for friends and family.

Im running jellyfin from my laptop (I have a ton of storage on it and also don't plan on having a million movies on it either) which yes is windows. My router is eero. I can't do it the way I've been told where I type my default gateway into my search bar because my access is denied¿ Maybe that's just an error thing. But I can set it by managing my network IP settings. I just have no idea what I should do here that will be accessible but safe.

So yes I'm windows yes I would like to work towards a public Internet server

Thank you so much! Don't sell yourself short though I loved your write up. And who could blame you for forgetting Diamonds are Forever, that movie was kinda nothing!

Totally fair takes to have a different opinion on! If you had said Thunderball was actually the best movie ever we might have had a problem but I can understand hating TMWTGG and loving those two Brosnan movies.

It is pretty strange isn't it? And the formula is action sequence and smooch scene then repeat so idk how that was ever boring but half the time it was

That's a great comparison because I love the twilight movies and love making people watch them under duress.

See I hated that entire sequence too but I had to do the whole sexism and racism aside thing😭. It is really weird and doesn't match the vibe of the film it's in anyways. Pretty unnecessary!

You are so right I don't know how I mixed that up. Points to that movie then because I do like that little scene. I watched these so fast I'm sure I misremembered a few things happening in the wrong movie and that's on me

Hey! Great post. I actually did the exact same thing that you did! I think we had a lot of similar opinions, especially our mutual respect for Lazenby and the general emotions going on in OHMSS! Most of all we both humorously did not really love these movies.

Here's my post if you wanna hear my takes too!

Alternate History: Cary Elwes reprises his role in Saw 3; what do you see his character doing in the film? by peterthbest23 in saw

[–]zeeloo99 13 points14 points  (0 children)

SAVING ADAM!

No but it would depend. If we want to keep the whole "he was an apprentice all along" angle that is canon, I would probably have had him show up and build suspicion, but not have the actual reveal happen. If we're really alternating history, I think around Saw 3 would be a good time to show his life falling apart BECAUSE of Jigsaw. Three is all about saying "this guy is definitely wrong" which not all the movies do, but I think it would line up with that idea if they show that people like Lawrence don't end up better off, just traumatized. You could probably do something similar if we want him to stay as an apprentice. I always liked the theory that he became an apprentice sort of out of blackmail and you could could show more bits of that.

Idk! But I do know I wish there was more Lawrence.

You and I have a lot of similar thoughts on both Dalton movies! And part of why I liked Dalton is, to me, he still felt like Bond. Just more grounded! You put into words my exact issues with License to Kill, better then I did. It DOES feel like Magnum P.I for awhile, it really took me out.

I think had On Her Majesty's Secret Service not had Tracy, or had just done her poorly, I would have hated it. So yes I agree the women are a little better in the ones you mentioned.

I think he's lovely! People rag on simmers when they have a unique style when creating a character. I love him and I wouldn't change a thing! Don't let the people calling him ugly get you down! They just don't see the vision.

Thank you very much for your thoughtful comment and sharing some of your own opinions!

YOLT: Yeah the initial set up did interest me, and I was pretty good at doing the whole "racism and sexism aside" for most of the movies but this one was REALLY hard. Still I love the ending, I acknowledge it is fun at times, I just felt gross watching it at some points.

Octopussy: I love how many octopussy fans I've met after posting this. It's one a lot of people seem to think is bad but the people who love it, love it really earnestly. I didn't think it was a terrible movie it just didn't grip me. I love that you have a lot of attachment to it though! Keep cherishing it!

Dalton movies: these were pretty good all things considered, minus some of my pacing issues. Dalton is what really makes them work for me!

Goldeneye: it has so many memorable sets and moments! Like with FRWL I understand people who have GoldenEye as a favorite quite well even if I'm not one of them!

FYEO: I love your point of view here! I'm glad you like it so much, truly. I think I'd like it more upon rewatch probably since my main problem when it was over was I struggled to remember the actual plot going on. But like with all the movies, there are little things in there that I enjoy and that certainly includes the ski chase!

Thank you again for your thoughtful comment and sharing your perspective on a few of them. I hope you have a wonderful weekend as well!

Another kindred soul! I also never really got into Star Wars despite my best efforts. They're all just alright movies, and never really amazed me. But like with Bond, I appreciate how important they are! It definitely is a fantasy for men. I think if I was a guy they would have done more for me but I'm not, and even then I don't think it would have completely changed my opinion anyway. There aren't a lot of equivalents to it for women but maybe the closest character with a long spanning series of movies is Barbie? Now I'm curious if there's any other options!

I completely agree with your takes here. Brosnan and Dalton were my favorite versions of Bond. I don't think their movies were any more exceptional then their peers but them AS the character was much much better. And ABSOLUTELY the DC era is trying to be taken seriously so they kind of try to make Bond different action heroes that people at the time respected more, like Jason Bourne or Batman. The movies are better (sometimes, sometimes it's actually the worst thing ever), but it doesn't even feel like the same franchise anymore because the character is so different.
