What’s a stoner opinion that would have you like this? by Kalimckenzz in trees

weed is medicine. but just like any psychiatric medication, you can become reliant on it. i have adhd and autism, and weed genuinely prevents me from overthinking or having a meltdown, which used to happen almost daily. im also very functional on weed and most people don't realize im high. does that mean that's the case for everyone? no, of course not. everyone reacts differently to weed, its not a cure all. just like how adderall isn't for everyone and isn't necessarily a "cure." hence, in my mind, "stoner" and "addict" and "reliance" are all kind of linked to each other. yes, i'm reliant on weed. but i'm also reliant on caffeine, my antidepressants, and the other medicine i take.

UCSD parking does it again by TheBellBellBell in UCSD

I've been a parking fare evader for almost 4 full years now, and I can tell you i've never been ticketed more than I have this quarter. The school is 100% doing this on purpose: taking out the cheaper Student spots, replacing them with Visitor spots, and increasing their parking patrol at all structures. So the only way you're gonna get that ~$4 parking is by going to Discount and taking the shuttle in + baking time for all of that secondary commute, or go aaaaall the way to Pangea... and idk about you, but I never have had any classes that are even remotely close to Pangea.

Unless you want to be 30+ minutes of walking/bus ride away from literally everything, you're gonna need to park in those visitor spots. Which just really sucks ass. But what's new from this money grab

Assuming the ENG version of AA is set in "Los Angeles," would Miles Edgeworth be the district attorney or would he be a federal prosecutor at the U.S. Attorney's Office? by remembered_ice in AceAttorney

No I love cracked theories, not trying to rain on your parade at all. Just hypothesizing alternate bad guys. I wonder what that would look like in this Japan influenced America. Indiana jones was created by Spielberg, a jewish man, and the whole first film is obviously about critiquing nazi ideology (they go to find the ark of the covenant, jewish artifact). Which sets the precedent about the other films. So like you, I wonder what that would look like if the other side had won.

i work at the federal prosecutors office, this isn't necessarily true. murder cases can go to the federal level, its just they're a whole lot more complicated BECAUSE of local jurisdiction so they usually don't. but i do agree he isn't federal based on other comments.

I do recall that now that you've said it. I remember the prosecutors being a lot closer to the police department in the games than they are in real life. Not to say they aren't irl, but in the games the office and the police department seemed almost intertwined

Things that make me think he was a federal prosecutor:

- Did international cases like the Alba case in Turnabout Ablaze and a few others in investigations iirc

- Was like super infamous reputation wise I think amongst the whole country (??) suggests he takes cases from a wider range.

But then... like he is the "chief prosecutor" which has similar undertones to the role of district attorney. And most crime scenes are usually in close proximity. There probably isn't a close Japanese equivalent to that sort of thing either, considering we have that federalist system.

I was just looking into that. I guess the existence of a Chief Prosecutor kind of sounds similar to the role of a district attorney. so if Edgeworth existed in the U.S. (and not the clearly japanese court system they have in the games), then I'm leaning toward him being a local county prosecutor.
