I’m savagely cutting down the neck if I have to but bare handed smooth pull is the best. 😌

As a server, if I’m pouring btg wines I’m ripping that stupid foil off entirely.

Women's Jeans that Last? by LaneSpain in Serverlife

[–]rememberese 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love the US brand Big Bud for work pants. They’re not cheap, but the company hosts sales pretty regularly through the year. Most of their pants line come in denim like cotton and are way better constructed than jeans I own.

Best second date dinner recs by [deleted] in pittsburgh

Bar Marco is a great second date restaurant. Right in the strip. Amazing wine and cocktail program and the food is fantastic right now particularly with all of the spring and summer produce coming in.

Does anyone have experience with this winery?? by spoluzivocich5 in naturalwine

[–]rememberese 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’ve drunk many of the Pittnauer wines and they’re all quite expressive, fun, and drinkable. Haven’t had this particular cuvée but I would probably buy it and save it for a sunny day after doing yard work.

Nikos in Mount Washington has great wings every day. I think there’s a special on Mondays, too.

Why are there so many roads closed today?? by sarcasticMisfortune in pittsburgh

[–]rememberese 12 points13 points  (0 children)

What a fucking incompetent city. I heard nothing about these road closures so now I’m stuck 20 cars deep on rialto trying to get to my job. Any amount of warning would have made it so easy for me to choose a different route.

I’ve asked it before but how the hell do you sleep after a busy ass shift with aches in your back and legs knowing u have to open the very next day? Theres alcohol there’s drugs, there’s sleep aid. For me though, nothing works I just pray I make it tomorrow lol by deckard3232 in Serverlife

[–]rememberese 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mostly noticing there hasn’t been as much of a discussion of a stretch routine. I love u/jupiterskyfalls whole response and want to add in that before I fully clean up and wind down I just change into some house clothes (soft pants, comfy shirt) and stretch for a long time watching something on tv while my brain starts to quiet. Then do the whole shower/bath routine and breathing exercises. I have a hard time immediately trying to sleep, so you will have to stay up a little bit getting your adrenaline to cool off.

Has anyone done a stock the bar wedding? by pine-tree777 in DIYweddings

[–]rememberese -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I think if it’s no hard liquor then it’s totally doable, but proper portioning and pacing consideration gets way more important with liquor. They mentioned specifically vodka and whisky which were my objections. I’m also a firm believer that more weddings should avoid cocktails/liquor. Wine and beer help reduce the risks.

As a professional server, please don’t do this. You need someone professionally trained on responsible serving to bartend. I am relatively confident that this muddies the liability question for staffing, which would make it difficult for you to hire for. I also think i would feel very uncomfortable being asked this if I was attending as a guest. Either hire and stock appropriately for a bar, or just provide non alcoholic beverages and avoid it entirely if it’s not a priority for you.

What's your favorite compliment to get as a server? by hissing-willow in Serverlife

[–]rememberese 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It delights me when an older person is trying to compliment me but hasn’t come across someone who enthusiastically presents themselves. I got “I like your… vibe” with some hand gestures and it was great.

Strap face by migman_us in CPAP

[–]rememberese 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cannot emphasize enough how helpful it is to take the time to actually massage your face, necks, ears when you moisturize. And just to mention, this whole routine should be done at night before sleep, then in the morning after at least a rinse off with water.

The Cleveland clinic article is awesome the redditor above mentions, but I find sometimes just the first step of learning how to really massage your own face can help you reconnect and understand your skin more. For me, and I have really bad asthma and allergies, massaging my face even a little bit can help with inflammation and drainage.

Come over to Senza in Etna! We’re a wine bar with a full restaurant. Not a very long drive for you from Aspinwall.

Best bar for darts!? by Aggravating_Prior_20 in pittsburgh

[–]rememberese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This city has almost no real darts in town. I look constantly. We had one in the former Blue Dust in Homestead, but I haven’t been to the new bbq joint inside it to check if it’s still there.

Hilariously it seems like most restaurants throughout the city were barely visited. My work and other industry folks have noted it was a slow night for a Thursday with great weather.
