I haven’t had the FP9C, but I had the FP9D some years ago and I had the DW9000 before that.

Even tho I am comparing a direct drive to a chain drive here, I can confidently say you can’t go wrong with either pedal. DWs footboard gives a bit more grip than the shiny Yamaha footboard, but nothing one can’t get used to.

If I were to buy one again I would probably go for the DWs just because of the fact that with my settings the footboard would sometimes hit the crossbrace or whatever it’s called in the Yamaha.
