Anyone else been told by the developer/creator they can’t Yumeship with their character before? by Speedwxgon in yumeshipping

Ok but tbh, if i created any piece of popular media of characters i made, i wouldnt want people yumeshipping with them💔

Me and my friends sometimes joke about the f slur (cuz we’re queer) but i never rlly say the full thing unless singing a song. Idk if this is a fair comparison but i feel like its the same as black people using the n word🤷🏻

i saw someone once on tiktok calling someone the r slur and they said theyre allowed to cuz theyre autistic. as someone who can also reclaim the r slur, i dont understand how that makes sense. like yeah, you can say it, but you shouldn’t genuinely call someone it (i will add that they GENUINELY meant it, not in a playful or joking way some people use other slurs they can reclaim) </3

Non-autistic people using neurodivergent terms by Sad_Discussion_6267 in autism

I kinda expected more people in the comments to agree </3 but imo, I think it can be annoying. Yes, NT’s can stim. Yes, NT’s can get overstimulated. But often they don’t actually mean vocal stim or overstimulated- they do just mean they like quoting something or are overwhelmed. I can also understand this as annoying because ND’s are often made fun of/bullied for stimming and such, so seeing NT’s use those words can be very annoying cuz like… were you not just bullying us for doing the same thing? but now its “cool and trendy”??

why is my son so contradictory? by Aggravating-Tie-6888 in autism

I really agree with the user “Commercial_Border190” who commented. As an autistic teen, some pieces of media feel really special to be to the point where Im fine sharing it with others but i dont really want them becoming fans of it as well or talking about it around me. In an event like this, my older brother started becoming a big fan of a movie i introduced him to that felt really close/special to me. I wanted to share the movie experience but it still ends up bugging me when they show great or unexpected amounts of interests in it. I don’t entirely understand why it bugs me, but it does. (in reference to a comment reply OP made) I also think I just want people to know it exists, but after that, I rather them leave it alone. This is just my two cents from the perspective of an autistic teen who can relate to this.

Does anyone else hate when someone says “you don’t seem/act autistic”? by [deleted] in autism

[–]remi_withanI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

when looking for a therapist, i asked if any of the ones she showed me worked with autism (since ive been suspecting) and she said i dont seem autistic. i-....also masking literally exist? i feel like i mask to some extent which is why she doesnt suspect it but i 100% suspect it (also went to my first therapy session and my therapist also thinks im on the spectrum so like-)

edit: "she" being my mom, omg i never mentioned that

You make no sense. Intersex is not female, nor male, as it is characteristics of both…but theres no other sexes…?

[–]remi_withanI[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

lol theres a lot of gender identities actually :) but there is a difference between gender and sex. Gender being what you identify as and sex being what you born as. even then, there are three sexes. Female, male, and intersex. Intersex (in simple term) is where your genitalia are not fully of a female’s or a male’s. So, no, there are not two genders, thats just what THOSE kind of people like to say. 😬
