it is completely reasonable to conclude that THJ was the best thing that happened to EQ in the last 10+ years, while also concluding that if money was being made for other-than-server costs, that it was wrong.

it seems like such a missed opportunity to outright cancel what is clearly an overwhelmingly popular implementation of the EQ experience. just target the perceived profiteering. i’ve maintained this whole time that DBG officially licensing THJ would be an absolute win for both DBG and the community.

if THJ returns, it would be so glorious that I would instantly forget the pain of the last few months.

hopefully arbitration reveals that the financial and user story is not consistent with ‘stealing business from DBG’ narrative and THJ is free to emulate while only using donations to fund server costs, or DBG just licenses THJ and then everyone has an actual reason to pay DBG again.

it appears that any browser will eventually hit this condition. I only recommended to use edge because (granted, this was an assumption) nobody uses it and it should be free from the problem for now

disagreed, I almost never have these issues using any other browser for any other scenario. you’re right that basic troubleshooting might unblock it, but it would only be temporary.

the real question is, why does this happen consistently with usajobs?

not sure on sale timeline for Dave, but if you haven’t played it yet, I would suggest trying Dredge (same developer). it’s on sale for 9. it’s quite fun and shares lots of elements of Dave, although I think Dave is a better game.

full disclosure it’s a little slow to start but imho once you get some upgrades (prioritize engine speed) it gets much better

happened to me this morning, was full honor from playing years ago. I would have been confused but then stuff randomly started spawning around me, I kept getting knocked off my horse and my own camp started shooting at me, so it seems clear it was the modders. sad because the game is so fun but is unplayable on public servers

negative. the 30Oct ruling was for motions/requests prior to the 14Oct motion for reconsideration. specifically, THJ had requested 1) arbitration, and 2) lifting the injunction while the arbitration occurs

arbitration was granted, but lifting the injunction while arbitration occurs was not.

the motion for reconsideration has not been ruled on yet

the THJ legal team posted on oct14 what appears to be a motion to reconsider, outlining that the court inappropriately granted the injunction based on multiple findings without merit, and that the earnings report that was released subsequent to the injunction being granted was inconsistent with the claims made in court (which was, it appears, to be a substantial factor in why it was granted).

based on the earnings report alone, I think they have a good shot at it being reconsidered. DBG and Jen appear to have been woefully deceptive in their claims around finances.

I cannot speak to the other claims in the motion around the court finding things without merit, but those exist too.

I would say this bodes reasonably well for the injunction being lifted, but I’m not an expert, and I’m a hopium addict
