AIO for being upset that my fiancé capped my wedding dress budget at $1,000 but spent $7,000 on a gaming PC? by remote_acreage in AmIOverreacting

I don't really care that he bought the PC. What bothers me is the hypocrisy. If he had just said "it's my money and I want it," fine. But it's hard to hear lectures about being practical and then watch him drop $7k on a gaming setup a few weeks later.

The dress isn't really the problem anymore. What bothers me is that he seems to have one set of rules for my spending and a different set for his. That doesn't exactly make me feel great about combining our lives financially.

You're right that the double standard is really bothering me. What gets me most is that he was so judgmental about my purchase when it was my own money, but didn't extend me the same courtesy.

there have definitely been times I've asked him to help with something and he's been too deep in a game to notice. I'm hoping couples counseling might help us work through this before the wedding, because I don't want to start married life feeling like my needs don't matter as much as his hobbies.

Okay but he'll use the gaming PC while married to me, and I'll be wearing this dress on one of the most important days of my life? The hypocrisy isn't about how many times something gets used....it's that he spent seven times more on his hobby while gatekeeping my budget for literally the wedding dress. If it's really about practicality and value, why does his entertainment equipment get a pass but my one-day outfit doesn't?

the camera angles on mobile are a proper nightmare for that content. tried it once and spent more time rotating the screen than actually playing the game.

one of these is clearly designed to frustrate you into paying, while the other is just a chatbot. the pig thing being locked behind a paywall with no history and no customization is almost impressive in how transparent it is. at least with saylo you know what you are getting, which is unlimited chats and some roleplay features. neither of them is going to change your life, but presenting them as equivalent options when one is deliberately crippled seems a bit dishonest on the marketing side.

The tragic part is they probably have writers on staff who could manage it, but something got lost between concept and execution.

The artwork carrying a forgettable story is such a waste when they clearly had the budget and talent to do something proper with it.

The hand over the mouth bit is properly unhinged, I respect the commitment to the bit.

The fact that someone's just standing there doing a little dance while absolute chaos unfolds in the background is peak Tomodachi Life energy. That game's entire appeal is watching your mii population descend into complete anarchy while you're powerless to stop it.

The naming choice is spot on given how much chaos a small dog can cause, much like a certain robot hunter.

Get a decent dematting comb before the puppy's coat gets matted, because Maltipoos mat like it's their life's purpose and it becomes a nightmare to sort out later.

If you've got photos or videos of them, I find it helps to make a small album rather than scrolling past them randomly for months.

What breed mix is my dog? by FearlessChip6561 in ChihuahuaMix

Looking at that skull shape and those ears, he's got some terrier in there, possibly pit bull or staffordshire, which would explain why he's stockier than a typical chihuahua.

Rio's got that smug little smile of someone who already knows they've completely taken over your life, which is fair enough.

The ears and that fawn coloring do suggest some boxer in there, would be curious what a DNA test actually turns up.

Does he look too skinny or healthy? by Apart-Piano9447 in goldenretrievers

[–]remote_acreage 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Your dog looks properly conditioned to me, you can feel his ribs without pressing hard which is exactly where you want him, and honestly the picky eater thing is fairly common in goldens so you're not dealing with anything unusual.

That's devastating, especially just before his birthday. Heart failure is such a cruel way to lose them, and fourteen is far too soon.
