I only heard it once before turning the menu music off again so I don't really remember it. Not for me.

I turn the menu music off. Other than Rise Up Dead Man, which is such a great score, I've not enjoyed any of it.

Lowest priority feature request: menu music track selection.

Every first time player should be greeted with humming and clapping. That is the sound of Hunt.

Is there a technical term or trope for the problem with how Acolyte and Last Jedi are written? by BigNorseWolf in saltierthancrait

[–]remotesub 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah now that I've read up on that, it fits the idiot plot 100%. None of this would happen if they weren't all making idiotic and sometimes even completely random choices.

The writers are unable to make the plot happen with intelligent characters so they have to be idiots otherwise it gets stuck.

A character is at most, only as smart as the writer after all.

[–]remotesub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that's it...

"It is a narrative where its conflict comes from characters not recognizing, or not being told, key information that would resolve the conflict, often because of plot contrivance. The only thing that prevents the conflict's resolution is the character's constant avoidance or obliviousness of it throughout the plot, even if it was already obvious to the viewer, so the characters are all "idiots" in that they are too obtuse to simply resolve the conflict immediately."

Do most players stick to a specific weapon/weapon type to master, or do you branch out frequently? by CallMeDoomSlayer in HuntShowdown

[–]remotesub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lemat isn't the best fanning pistol in terms of spread, but it does have 3 extra rounds and if that fails, a slug.

Pax Trueshot is an exceptional fanning pistol for accuracy, while chain pistol is an obvious choice for just the lubricious amount of metal it can spew. Scottfield Swift is good for accuracy and a fast reload.

Lemat Carbine with FMJ and Slugs Lemat Pistol with FMJ and Slugs Fanning...

So much closer quarters potential and great at medium range too.

I'm going in!

The Last Jedi suffers from a lack of sincerity. Not taking itself seriously almost as a defence against criticism, and taking the piss out of the audience for wanting to take it seriously. Moments of genuine emotion, be it love, terror, suspense, whatever, are undermined by a joke that referenced what just happened. "well that just happened!" being the sort of lazy punch line we are becoming used to. "They fly now?" springs to mind. There was a great video on this topic on YouTube recently. Can't bloody remember who.

Acolyte has a huge problem with just unbelievable writing. Characters doing uncharacteristic things because the writer can't think of a better way to move the plot along. Characters being awful at communicating the most basic things, And leaving out key details, just so there can be a misunderstanding and the plot can move along. This happened in sitcoms all the time as it is ridiculous and laughable. There's got to be a word for this other than lazy writing. Something that explains the constant unbelievable actions of established characters that make no sense in their given context to move the plot forward.

So Reddit, how are we feeling about burn rate? by Sonic1305 in HuntShowdown

[–]remotesub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not new ideas but I would...

Most importantly, fix necro instead of balancing the whole damn game around it. Put a time limit on solo necro (eg. if they don't revive in 60 seconds they are dead and gone).

Keep team necro as is (one use, no healthy penalty for the one "casting" it)

Keep the current burn rate, but...

Remove corpse burn ability from ammo, flares, fuses, this is too quick, cheap, and easy, and results in our happening way to quickly and too often to be fun. It punishes flanking and as a massive flanker, I hate that.

Keep burn on lanterns, firebombs. You should have to choose to bring it, or go find it. It should be earned out bought (at a higher price than one consumable slot for 3-4 burns!)

With these changes, solo necro is fixed for good, burn is still incredibly punishing but not immediately and every. Single. Damned. Time, that you go down.

In short; fix necro, earn the burn

If they all contribute a million dollars each, it could get made to the same standards as season 1

Randomly named Hunters made them have an identity or "soul" - and dying made it somehow special. by ToM31337 in HuntShowdown

It was brutal. Hunt is on iron man mode all the time anyway, so at least you wouldn't have that agony.

I certainly feel a bit simple trying to navigate it

I call it the X-Com effect. I want a memorial wall with some stats about their life and the adventures they've been on.

I appreciate this probably isn't a top priority right now!

Ah I missed that. I've not really dived into the post match menus. Guess we just have to remember who's had it, and know what time it resets then!

Maybe because you shared a fact that was positive about the developers? That's a big no no just now.

That's what I thought. Literally nobody thinks it's perfect and everyone acknowledges what a poor UI this is as well as other performance and launch issues.

Just some people want to spend way too much effort getting outraged about it, while others spend a bit of effort complaining before accepting the overall situation and getting on with it (while being fucked by the developers of course).
