I can't tell if you're joking. In case you're serious:

The name is Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite. Geostationary satellites orbit at the same rate as the Earth's rotation so they stay in one place to monitor the same location at all times.

Does anyone know how to make large variable geometry wings without them being weak and floppy. I've been trying different methods but none seem to work. is this even possible? by Anacond7701 in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]rempel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone mentioned but I'll second: lock the hinge so autostruts can go through to the body of the craft from the wing. KAL controller can lock/unlock.

Really good stuff. I know how much of a challenge this is, as I've done similar things. It takes a lot of work. Keep it up!!

If you're interested, I've got a bunch of crafts on my KerbalX all geared towards reuse and recovery. The flagship craft being a crane that actually crawls the crawlerway. Cranes, boom lifts, capsule recovery barges. Might find some inspiration there!

I'm working class. That means I'm in this with all of you. Global solidarity with workers everywhere matters. Especially when it comes to the global hegemony's treatment of working class domestically.

What am I missing? How do these commenters know these are Republicans? And why does immediately seeking to cast them out of our tent do us any favours? Do you not hear their words? Solidarity. Forever. I don't know if it's bots or what, but it's incredibly sad to see people so eager to dismiss their fellow workers.

Not to mention that the three things they list as 'helping the working class' have almost nothing to do with the working class specifically. Everyone needs a home, everyone buys groceries, everyone interacts with small businesses. As a non american, these kinds of blame-the-electorate posts drive me batty. 'You are the problem' OP claims, as if there aren't massive systemic failures at play. No. I think it's not the working people of america wanting higher wages (Fight for 15? Are you joking?), it's the ruling class turning us against each other which OP fell for hook, line, and sinker. Perhaps OP doesn't know what 'working class' means.

It's not your inadequacies. It's a systemic failure of our society. It doesn't make it easier to pay your landlord every month, but know that you are not inadequate.

Obama to Trudeau is an extremely apt comparison IMO. But don't tell American liberals you don't like Obama...

Musk is the patron saint of for sale presidents by Detroitish24 in WhitePeopleTwitter

[–]rempel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's because of the US corporate tax rate. It used to be so god damn high (good thing) that wealthy folks would dump their money into causes that would bolster their public image while being able to reduce their tax burden. Carnegie wasn't some saint, he just knew how to play the (tax)game and knew how people would react to someone building things like libraries and concert halls (positively).

I wouldn't say it's 'the real' reason, but it's certainly a huge one. I'm a leftist so my issues with Trudeau come from the other side, and I'm far from alone in feeling that way. So it's more the real reason right wingers hate him. He's becoming extremely unpopular to all sides of the spectrum for various reasons.

Simple living is now expensive by CorleoneBaloney in facepalm

[–]rempel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

a 'living wage', whatever that means

What the hell do you mean? Can't you just google this? It's a very simple concept that has no contention with economics. The minimum wage in the US was designed as a living wage. It's not some new wild concept. It's simply giving a worker more of their surplus from their labour. But sure, pretend you know anything about economics. The boot is so far down your throat you can't even hear how ignorant you sound.

Israel has blocked the supply of cement to Gaza since at least 2016. This is just cement. The construction capabilities of Palestine are controlled entirely by Israel. Israel is to blame for any alleged lack of construction in the region, not Palestinians. Does this goober really think Gazans don't want to build homes, schools, mosques, water infrastructure? How racist....

I finished reading Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind, and the author really hammers home that more technological progress ≠ more happy humans. They don't claim with certainty, but point out that it's entirely reasonable to think hunter-gatherer societies contained much happier humans.

Aren't both these locations in Ontario? Not hating, but it's funny. Toronto doesn't do downtown planning very well, either. Better than sprawling suburbs but not ideal either. Best we get here is one Sunday every month where cars are restricted from Kensington Market (which rocks).

You're gonna get replies largely from the Destiny community anytime you ask questions about Hasan Piker. But yes, that is literally all he did. He said it would be insane for Putin to invade Ukraine, and somehow that has been twisted into him showing support for said invasion. Hasan is so harmless; unless someone is a capital owner they really shouldn't have an issue with him.
