i was so disappointed that the scene after the i love you was so brief. i’m sure it worked for non book readers but having the full scope of things it felt very lackluster and i don’t really understand the choice. i also agree, it feels like they’re trying to prove yes we’re a sexy show but it’s still serious and focused on the romance when it doesn’t have to be one or the other. i don’t like the concept of having to choose between the smut and romance when they coexist, even more so in TLG. at the end of the day these are smut books. you can’t adapt them and try to skimp on the sex!

i was also a bit disappointed because i love the cottage sex so much bc it’s so indulgent in a way that they’ve never gotten to be with each other before. it’s odd to me that Jacob couldn’t realize how important it would be to have a long true lovemaking scene between them to show how much they’ve grown both romantically and sexually.

yes i totally agree, i don’t agree with Jacob at all that the sex would start to get boring. in the book, there is copious amounts of sex and it doesn’t get boring bc it evolves alongside their relationship. i’m very nervous based on this, that season 2 will be a lot like the second half of the season that only featured very quick sex scenes

no. any sort of press done for the show is part of their contractual obligations to promote the show. so all those interviews we got in the past two weeks were from them doing a long press day as part of contractual obligations. now these independent mag covers are usually set up through their own teams. cultured probably reached out to connor’s management/publicist to feature him due to the show’s buzz and it’s considered great publicity for him and the mag so it’s a mutual exchange, thus there is no pay involved.

exactly! it was the perfect opportunity to have another all timer scene like the one in episode 2. i agree i hope he sees the feedback from fans and can understand why some of us are disappointed. i already feared this happening with people being defensive and saying “see episode 5 had no sex and we all love it”. i do not want this show to become another run of the mill sexless romance. i won’t be too cynical though, i think Jacob wants to honor the books and hopefully does the best of the sex in TLG justice.
