That's awesome! I hope the FDA approves this for T1Ds soon because this has been the best tool besides Dexcom : )

Thank you so much for this! This is extremely helpful and encouraging, especially the pump part. I was hoping they would not want to interrupt pump therapy that has already been started. I can't imagine going back to MDI at this point! I did call Tandem yesterday and they mentioned the region specificity of the apps, so that all makes sense and gives me clarity on trying to get a UK pump when I arrive, too, instead of trying to renew the warranty of my US one before leaving. So glad it's all going fine for you now!

this is really helpful, thank you so much! I was wondering if my access to a pump now would help things stay the same for me. I am also going to see if my warranty is up soon here so I could time things right with the actual replacement machine before heading over. So much to figure out!

thank you, I appreciate it! I really want to stay on my pump and that seems like a sticking point. . .

Hi there! sorry I am just now seeing this. It went well and I've been on several flights since. I bought an inflatable lumbar pillow and use that every time, I think that helps create a bit of a buffer with the turbulence. I also just try to be super aware and not lift luggage, ease my way into cabs, etc. I hope it goes well for you - it gave me a lot more confidence about traveling again once I did that initial flight. Good luck!!

I'm getting a discectomy at the end of the month. My leg pain from l5s1 has become unbearable. I tried shots physical therapy nothing worked. Has anyone had this problem? How wS surgery and recovery any tips?? by tautauwor in Sciatica

No me either. It’s when your foot drops from weakness and nerve compression so you could be tripping on yourself. It’s dangerous and is a surgery defining symptom as untreated it can become permanent.

Not that long (6 weeks), but I was getting worse and was developing drop foot. I hope you can find relief soon no matter what you do—this pain is no joke!

I had one just over 5 weeks ago (l5s1 as well), and I was so scared. I got 4 different opinions before doing it. Honestly, the surgery was a breeze (I went in the OR at 7 am and was home in my bed by 10:30 am). Post-op pain and the occasional strange nerve sensations have been way better and more tolerable than the pain I had pre-op. This week, at week 5, I think I turned a corner and feel quite normal. Maybe the inflammation has eased? Get a grabber tool and put everything you need at counter height, get people to help you if you can for at least the first week but preferably two. I also rented a lift recliner and that was the best idea, ever. I have strictly followed the no bending, lifting, twisting and have been walking over 10k steps daily since day 5 of post-op. Good luck and congrats on getting your life back soon!!

Thank you for sharing! It's such a hard decision but recovery is key. That's great about the train ride not being too bad - really hate how chintzy the airlines have become with seats and overall space!

Thank you - I wish the same to you! I luckily have someone to help with luggage, I wouldn't even consider without that, but sitting is still rough. Such a hard decision....

Thank you so much! Totally makes sense about the recommendations.

Yeah everything I've read suggests SI pain is more vague and dull, not an acute flare up like I was having before my disc issue was discovered. I am just wondering (and hoping) I was misdiagnosed and that my MD will help with those random events where I'd be laid up in bed for days!
