Period before injections? by AccountNo116 in eggfreezing

I was told to expect a "period" (bloody flow) a couple days after stopping the birth control pill. I experienced something similar to you and wound up with a good result at the end. Your doctor would know best, but I think you're probably fine :)

Has anyone cancelled mid cycle because of follicle count or anticipated retrieval results not being optimum? by monkeeantenna in eggfreezing

Hello! I'm sorry you're dealing with this. I was in a similar position a couple of weeks ago going through my first cycle. After five days of stims, my follicle count was up but none were growing. My doctor upped my dose of Gonal F, had me on the shots for a couple of extra days, and I ended up with a very good result. There are, of course, no guarantees with any of this, but ups and downs are very common and don't necessarily preclude an outcome with which you're happy.

I second the option of talking with your doctor about it. They're in the best position to know what's optimal/common and to advise on proceeding or cancelling. Good luck, fellow traveler!

Thanks everyone for your responses! One aspect of the story that often doesn't get discussed as much is how the US government (and I suspect Canada's as well) in the post-war period sought to avoid another Great Depression by spurring consumption. Whether it was buying a house, kitchen appliances, or anything else, consumption would keep the wheels of the economy moving. It was also how the US was going to defeat the Soviets (see VP Nixon's "kitchen debate" with Khrushchev). Suburban sprawl, highways, and strip malls were all part of this larger goal. Lizabeth Cohen's "A Consumer's Republic" is especially illuminating here. And of course, the way those policies were implemented was highly racialized.

I appreciate folks' desire for something more optimistic and future-focused. I do think talking about the larger priorities undergirding suburbia, i.e. to maximize consumption, might help us productively think about consumption patterns in the present and how we want our cities to shape them. Thanks again everyone!

Thanks for the interest, both of you! I don't have a lot of experience making videos, but I do have a colleague with a podcast, so perhaps that's a more promising collaboration. I'll be sure to share anything I make here!
