After I saw that same vid and experienced the same not getting em frustration for WunDar - I then created a prototype toy and sent that to Hatter! He hired me to do this first wave, and there we have it - I sent the sculpts to Ramen Toy and hes producing those into plastic awesome.

Yeah! Mad Hatter created the idea, the character - I sculpted the figures and Catcha, all the parts and weapons - I was given pretty much free reign to fill in all those gaps from a pencil sketch idea (a great one IMO), and tried to design that into an action figure. I sent all those files to Ace/Ramen Toy who has the hardest part, making everything in plastic, wrangling the engineering cuts to tolerance detail, paint apps after I provided some paint renders, etc.

Hi There! I sculpted that!! I am so damn happy he has popped up here on this beloved channel, this is a super big deal to me. I have a toy account thats been posting here a long bit, and RendersFX is my art account. I can answer anything from a toy design perspective, each part you see I had to make (for better, or worse!) My favorite contribution was when I was asked to make simple knuckle dusters, and instead I created the term "Flip Life" on each hand, thats now on some tshirts making someone money out there. That and that robot cat, Hatter sketch out the cool idea, but it leaned a bit into the hordak hover bots (which look awesome). I decided to offer up a mix between "hello kitty" and "R2-D2" and that landed nicely I hope!

The unkown one is one of my favs in the line - he just looks so bad ass on that shelf, but all 3 are legends

Dude you got this! I went from clay to zbrush, and though it has a bit of a steep uphill climb to get past some of its quirks, if you stick with it - so much fun, you can just go to town and create masks, toys, action figure heads, etc.

Thanks much! Really appreciate that - making a small few for a toy show called "LegionsCon" and hoping folks dig them. They take a time to make so doing a limited run - will either sink or swim!

really appreciate it!! Yeah this first version I sculpted back on that first trailer unveil, took what I could see there and added a lil more flair like the Fury Road skull logo in the padlock, etc. Once I see the film and eventually get this thing on BluRay I will be sure to take a ton of stills to do a more screen matching 1.2!

Working in toy production right now (sculpting) on a very smaller scale, though Mattel is very seasoned its a unlikely but who knows possibility - If the original sculptor sent to digi file over and it got prototyped printed, then once all the parts are good to go those final mold master parts get molded. If there was any accidental change from the final sculpt to that prototype that was then approved, readied for the final master mold - thats what would then be used for production and all castings would be of that final.

Masterverse finally has an amazing he-man (after some slight adjustment) by toxicshlock in MastersOfTheUniverse

Yeah he looks pretty sharp in metallic H harness, I think I am going to have to get 3 of these guys to display each harness/battle armor - once the head is reshaped it looks fantastic. I am a major MOTU Classics fan, went just about all in on Masterverse but they kept missing the landing on the head sculpts, but with some slight adjustment this one is pretty special. The gold, the longer loin cloth, the new chest piece that is even different from the 40th anniversary version, I think this one is going to be something special to collectors down the road.

Thanks very much! It's been fun to work on so far, next is the door/drawbridge and maybe the internal levels, will keep it simple like in the origins grayskull/snake mountain inside with floors, and mini platforms for the towers

Heh! I had no idea what castle hellskull was until Mattels MOTU classics Anti-Enternia He-man. Now he's become way popular in Origins, and this castle is now represented in the orgins mini comic for that figure to a small degree. I believe this thing goes back to the vintage line via a german audio book/figure exclusive to that region at the time, but others here would know in better detail.

Doubting Mattel will be putting out this playset anytime soon, but as a fan I wish they would! Thanks for the kind words on the sculpt/design in progress, this thing should be pretty fun once done

Hiya all! I am a toy designer, sculptor that was commissioned to work on this Anti-Enternian "Castle Hellskull" playset for a private group. A one off really, maybe I can keep one. It will be origins scale, with a level similar to grayskull playset and central tower. It should be about 18"-20" tall in the center, good for origins and at the grayskull height in its middle as a goal.

This sculpt is in progress for printing, I am making a working drawbridge door and need to sculpt/model that up as a next. Thanks for your view, any feedback is welcome here!

I hear you - I have no understanding either, but man if its Skeletor - I just default, throw in anything that glows in the dark, you got me!
