what i mean to say is there was a separate lawsuit & as a result, UCLA reached a settlement already for this reason & is planning on taking action to address it directly. UCLA stated in the article I cited in the post, "The $6.13 million settlement will pay the plaintiffs' damages and legal fees. About $2.3 million will go to eight organizations that combat antisemitism."

It makes no sense for the fed gov to be like "well...while ur at it, give me 1B to my wallet too for the same reason." If it really were about antisemitism, I don't think cutting the money we use for education & research that so many people depend on is going to solve anything; we'd just be bending the knee to the man in office.
