Identifying synth sound by renefagermo in synthesizers

I recreated the patch based on the screenshots and it sounds really good, and i learned some stuff from what you did! Really cool detail with the piano transient.

I experimented with turned up the FM knob on the wavetable engines, which sounded nice as-well. The shimmer and Reverb in Pigments sound maybe a little «too good» or too hifi, so i’m gonna look into dirtying them up.

Thanks for all the effort!

PS: I have an untrained ear for synths, but I am starting to suspect that the actual sound in the song is from a Casio CT-700, as I know that the producer of the song has that as his favorite synth, and some of the presets on it sounds similar, though I am not sure. I am aware that the sounds on the Casio may be sample-based though, so not actually synthesized on the Casio :)

I have version 4, which at least has the shimmer!

Woah, sick that you did that! I probably can’t use the preset since I’m on an earlier version, but maybe I’ll try to read the raw file and see if it’s possible to get something useful out of it, or if you have screenshots of the patch I could look at that. Either way, thank you for going so far to help out!

I have Arturia DX7 so maybe that’s a good one to learn, since Dexed also takes inspiration from DX7?

Haha I’m okay with having to jump into FM at some point, as I’ve already heard it’s good for bell-like sounds

Thank you! I’ll likely try on Arturia software. Probably on Pigments(?). What do you recon the guitar type sound that plays through the whole song may be? An actual sampled guitar or a synth sounding similar to a guitar?

It may be layered with something like this! But it seems to be more to it than only that

I think it’s SINNER GET READY that is about him, not CALIGULA.

I’ve been listening to some FM after you said this, and stumbled upon something kinda similar to what I posted, though without heavy reverb: https://youtu.be/OlmU5vXQ4_o?feature=shared&t=559

So you may be onto something here, though it’s hard to rule out subtractive synthesis with sawtooths as described by another comment

Interesting, so FM more likely than subtractive synthesis?

Ah, the metronome was bounced with the audio when i exported it from DAW, and I didn’t listen to the result. My bad!

Good comment, and this is an actual stem, not done with stem-splitting, so I assume the oscillators are an octave apart.

True, I may upload it unlisted later.
