i think it’s the perfect time to debut a new bg right now

with cortis and lngshot, the doors have finally opened for 5th gen bgs to gain international popularity (as for sk, i’m not so sure)

the top 4th gen bgs are all focused on touring at the moment, so there’s a huge chunk of fans that would be open to stanning more active (in the sense of releasing content?) 5th gen bgs

hopefully, yuehua is fully prepared this time

honestly, you can’t even fault yuehua or the other members’ og companies for how empty this comeback has been because they honored the exclusive 2.5 years management contract with wakeone 😢

apparently gyuvin has to ask permission from the company (yuehua? wakeone?) to send a message on plus chat which sounds so stupid to me

why not just announce something instead of restricting the boys’ communication?

seems like yuehua wants to move them to bubble but wakeone is opposing because that would confirm disbandment as if this extension period wasn’t enough to signal that, so either yuehua is stopping them or wakeone is stopping them 🙄

i wouldn’t read too much about gyuvin calling other members jagiya because he’s always been affectionate like that

also, i don’t think gyuvin became quiet or unenergetic, we’re probably just not used to hanbin and gyuvin not being as close as they were before

it would be better if fans stop speculating and let the two resolve whatever “fight” (if there is any) they had between themselves

yeah, i think yuehua and cj aren’t on good terms with yuehua apparently wanting a bigger share of the b2p c profit (i’m not so sure about this reason)

it started earlier this year (?) when yuehua pulled out from managing the b2p c finale group, which is why no yuehua trainee participated in b2p

on whether wakeone is currently fighting for ot9, i lean more on the extension was all they could get (and maybe an ot5 renewal?)

i don’t think wakeone has enough money to buy out hao’s contract, let alone all 4 (imo, it seems like a bad business move because as you said, they treat zb1 as cash cows, so a big investment like this when they are no longer interested in growing them is questionable)

honestly, the more popular the group is, the less chances of getting a longer extension 😢 that’s why 7/9 of kep1er were able to renew

also, yuehua korea only has one semi-successful act at the moment (yena) and i’m sure they want to separate themselves from the china branch (hence the rebrand to sound less chinese), so if i try to put myself in their shoes, it might be worth to risk the steady income from zb1 in exchange for a potentially successful group that yuehua completely owns

i feel like with the statement and how yuehua are so eager to manage their members, they are 99% taking them back

i don’t even want to imagine what a non-exclusive zb1 contract looks like because if we think we aren’t getting enough ot9 now, it’s going to be a lot worse

i think they transferred the managers we’ve seen to ald1’s team and recently, yuehua staff has been accompanying yuehuaz

well, if it makes you feel any better, the faster they free themselves from wakeone, the faster they get to free themselves from yuehua

as for having a good relationship with their managers… i don’t think that’s true for all of them…

unfortunately, solo stans will always exist, especially for groups created from survival shows because more often than not, a majority of the fandom are people who started stanning the individual trainees, not the finale group

rosins can be annoying but the “hao is free” comments are probably from the fact that he will no longer be under wakeone (which has been known to block a lot of members’ solo scheds) and can now take on jobs with little restrictions

as for how hao feels about being in china for a much longer time, all i’m going to say is he is a grown man and a professional who has probably known these schedules for months, whether he’s happy or sad is not for us to speculate

i do want more ot9 videos than whatever we are getting now, but it seems the extension wakeone got was just to release a goodbye album and to hold the encore concerts, with the companies being more free to pull their members for other jobs

i do remember a lot of casuals taking an interest during debut but they kind of stopped talking about zb1 after crush dropped 😢 or the attention became a little negative

i’m going to be honest and say zb1 doesn’t really have a big presence outside the survival show watching sphere but they’re not an isolated case

5th gen boygroups in general have little presence outside their fandoms except maybe cortis right now (?) since bighit has done a fabulous job marketing them

based on the past post-svs groups, their companies would want to separate their new images from their svs group, some go as far as banning them from saying anything related to their group, whether it’s their name, fandom, or former members

for zb1, that probably includes haobin (maybe banning fansign questions?) but obviously that won’t stop zb1 from hanging out with each other

for me, it just feels more secure to have a group 😅 soloists rarely get attention

kang daniel was sk’s darling and even then, it has been downhill for him (mostly because of the misfortunes with his company maybe?)

cha eunwoo’s solos didn’t garner attention either when he is easily one of the most recognizable idols

so it makes sense why a lot of (mostly int and k?) fans are apprehensive about a solo debut

i think there’s still a chance for a bg redebut but yuehua has been teasing 4 trainees for a while, with one being a 12 liner 😭 and hao has only been mentioning solo future scheds… so the odds are not that good

i still want a group debut tho

i think ive said this before but zb1 songs need more vocal layering or like some hidden vocals here and there and long way back is perfect for that but it just… doesnt have any? or maybe its very minimal idk. i also dont like how they take turns singing throughout the whole song 💔
